We had planned to do a "Tool Tips" topic at next week's Gateway JUG
meeting. Three of us were to demonstrate how three popular IDEs solve
common Java coding tasks. Each person would demonstrate project
creation and setup, editing, refactoring, and web development tasks.
One person was to demo NetBeans, another Eclipse Indigo, and another
JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA.
Unfortunately, one of the speakers has been hit with a last minute
business trip, so we'll have to reschedule this fun topic for 2012.
So we need a new topic and presenter. I've reached out to a few folks
to see if they'd like to present, but have had no takers so far.
Any volunteers?
If I don't hear from anyone by noon on Friday, I'll plan to do a
presentation on, "What's New in Servlet 3.0?" In this presentation,
I'll show the new capabilities in the Servlet 3.0 API using Tomcat 7.
I'll post more details about this once details are firmed up.
