At our June meeting, I did a presentation that introduced us to NOSQL
databases, when and why we would want to use them, and took a tour through
some simple CouchDB CRUD processes.
After the meeting, Giridhar G. told me about an upcoming StampedeCon 2012
BigData conference on Wednesday, August 1st. ( http://StampedeCon.com )
There will be presenters from Facebook, Nokia, Kraft, Monsanto and more. I
also noticed Alex Miller ("Dr. Strange Loop") will be presenting.
It's being held on the campus of the Washington University School of
Medicine at:
Eric P. Newman Education Center
320 South Euclid Avenue
St. Louis, MO 63110
The early bird ticket window has passed, but you have until July 22nd to get
the standard registration price of $250.
If you're currently doing anything with BigData, or just thinking about it,
you might want to check this out. I'll see you there!
