NoSQL. NoSQL. NoSQL.
Oh, when will you stop tormenting me NoSQL? So long ago I wed myself
to SQL and happily enslaved myself to her. And yet, here you come,
from out of nowhere, to beguile and seduce me, tormenting my contented
soul, making me question commitments made so long ago.
NoSQL. NoSQL. NoSQL.
Get out of my head NoSQL! Wherever I look, I see you. But what are you
anyway, you wicked temptress?
Why do you exist? Should I embrace you or push you away and fight you
to my dying breath? If I join with you, can I trust you will not turn
on me in my darkest hour? Do you intend to replace my trusted SQL or
merely be a casual mistress? If I permit myself to gaze into your
eyes, will I see anything like my dear SQL? Or will I see something
hideous and altogether different?
NoSQL. NoSQL. NoSQL.
Are you real or just a popular mirage?
NoSQL, I can resist you no longer.
-----
If you'd like to learn a bit about NoSQL, I invite you to attend our
June 5th Gateway JUG meeting. Together we'll explore these questions:
What is NoSQL?
Is it complementary or a replacement to SQL?
When and how would we use it?
What are some flavors of NoSQL databases and when would we use one
over the other?
How does NoSQL fit into our enterprise eco-system?
What does developing with NoSQL look like?
Be sure to RSVP (on MeetUp.com) so we can have plenty of food and
drink on hand.
