The July meetings of the Gateway JUG and Gateway Groovy User's Groups has been canceled. We're taking the time off for planning, including a fall / winter lineup of sessions.

Dave Klein, founder of the Gateway Groovy User Group, has indicated his project commitments are keeping him from planning and conducting the meetings of the Gateway Group Users Group. It's important we support and foster this important (many would say, smarter) cousin of the Java programming language, so I agreed to assume the responsibility for running the group until we can find a new volunteer to lead it.

If you are a passionate Groovy, Grails, Griffon, and/or Gradle developer who'd like to lead this excellent group, please contact me.  In the meantime...

In August, the Gateway JUG's topic will be "The JavaScript Every Java Web Application Developer Needs to Know".  The Gateway Groovy User's Group topic immediately following will build on that theme with it topic of, "Using jQuery to Spice Up Your Grails Application." While somewhat Grails specific, this presentation will be of broad interest to Java web application developers who also want to leverage the awesome powers of jQuery.

I look forward to seeing you all in August!

For you grammarians, you know I really meant to say, "The July meetings of the Gateway JUG and Gateway Groovy User's Groups have been canceled. We're taking the time off for planning, including a fall / winter lineup of sessions!"
