SPECIAL home group this Tuesday. Different time and place!

Hi everyone,

There's a change in plans for home group tomorrow: We're meeting at Rick & Susan's house at 6:30p!

Rick and Susan have some exciting but also anxiety-inducing news: they are very possibly getting THREE foster kids as of Wednesday!  They will be at a court hearing for the kids on Weds, and if that goes well they will bring home a clan of kids, ages 2, 3, and 4.

While they were supposed to be given 5 weeks notice and not more than 2 kids, they were given 1 week's notice and 3 kids.  On such short notice, they have a ton of work to do to childproof the house.

After talking with Rick on Sunday, Benson and I pitched the idea to have our home group meet at Rick and Susan's tomorrow so we could all help them with their looooong to-do list to prepare the house for these little ones.

I feel like as their home group we have had the privilege of walking in this foster-parenting journey with them.  We've prayed with them and tracked with their journey, and this is a tangible way to express our support.  If for some reason they end up not getting the kids, we can still help with the house and pray for their home because they are eventually gonna get kids.  They've been fantastic, caring leaders for each of us and I'm glad we get to return the blessing.

Parking is okay in any unnumbered spot or across the street.

(They live really, really far east, so give yourself lots of time.  Susan noted that traffic gets really bad on the 52 before 6:30p.  No worries if you need to be late, especially with the location and time change.  Just come whenever you're able to.  :)  )

I wish we could go!! Dano and I just promised a close friend that we would help her move tomorrow night.

We are at our final foster care class tonight!

Thank you soooooo much for stepping into our situation and being powerful intercessors last night. I looooooooove that this is such an active home group that demonstrates love and support through prayer, great relationships, and good deeds.

Your willingness to step into the chaos and mess of our last minute quest to make our home three child ready by today was not only appreciated by invaluable. Thank you for demonstrating what it means to be in community. You know how to help others in times of need.

That said, tonight Rick and I are going out for dinner and getting a good rest. The hearing has been extended until January 2nd as they conduct further investigation into the accusations.
