Ihave a question about billing addresses when ordering a Framework laptop. I am shipping a laptop to a place in the US, but I would like to have the billing address to be in India. I believe that should be permitted, right?

Entering false billing information in an attempt to place an order with a payment method from an unsupported country/region will be automatically flagged for review and said orders are subject to cancelation.

It seems to be a simple matter that neither the shipping address nor the payment address can be in an unsupported location (and trying to subvert either of those rules is obviously a no-no), which is fine. No argument here. I just wanted to clarify. It seems like any ambiguity left hanging just leads to this question being asked over and over.

Thank you for your responses everyone. For full clarity, I am in India right now and I am moving to the US next week. My father wants to buy the laptop for me (from India). We discussed that we would ship it to the US with my US address and pay with his account from the Indian billing address. I do not know (or think) exceptions can be made in this scenario.

Recently purchased HP laptop, which had Microsoft 365 already installed. On my previous computer I had been paying monthly by automatic bank transfer for Microsoft 365 on my previous computer, which I have restored to its original condition and donated to charity. Do I need to keep making those monthly payments?

This question may sound weird, but I already have been billed for the security software that came with the new computer, with the message that the new computer only came with a 30 day trial for that security software (and my position on McAfee already was NEVER AGAIN). Microsoft easily could be doing the same thing with my 365 software and NOT informing me because of my existing 365 subscription. Microsoft easily could have known who owned the new computer once I finished setting up.

The company I'm billing sent me an Apple laptop which is necessary to do this job. Unfortunately, I've never owned one, so I had to buy a bunch of accessories to use it comfortably at work: a docking station, a KVM switch, an HDMI cable and more.

Should I bill for the time it takes to set all of this stuff up? It feels like it might be unethical. On the other hand, if their software had an arduous process to get up and running, I would feel justified in billing for that time. I'm torn. Should I bill for setting up my work computer?

Disclosure: This webpage may mention the possibility of free laptop programs offered by various educational institutions. However, please note that the inclusion of any school on this page does not guarantee or imply a free laptop offer. The availability and terms of free laptop programs are subject to change and may vary between institutions. For the most accurate information, please consult with schools directly.

Fortunately, some colleges address this need by helping students get free or discounted laptops. The following top online schools provide some of the best computer tech perks. Additionally, we highlight some of the best budget-friendly laptops for students.

Many accredited colleges and universities offer technology services for online students. These services can include downloadable academic software and a virtual IT helpdesk. Certain majors may also receive special devices and software.

You must return or renew the loaned device at the end of the semester, and you need to be enrolled in the following semester to renew, including summer classes for summer loans. The loaners include various accessories, including cases, charging cables, and styluses or Apple pencils.

You can borrow various types of equipment from the circulation desk at San Diego State University (SDSU), including MacBook Pros, Dell Windows laptops, iPads, and Chromebooks. The loans last until the end of the semester.

SDSU loans operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The school also loans accessories, such as chargers, webcams, headsets, and external storage devices. Some of the accessories have a maximum loan time of seven days.

The Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) Laptop Loaner Program, offered through the Student Care and Resource Center, rents devices for up to one full semester. If you need the device longer, the school will review your case and request.

The limited supply of available devices varies, but they all run Windows-based applications. You are responsible for your storage device and will be assessed a replacement fee for damaged or misplaced items.

Technology is essential for online college, as most programs require a fast internet connection and a computer. If you plan to take advantage of a free laptop program, there are a few policies you need to understand.

Some accredited online schools mail technology packages before classes begin. These packages typically contain laptops and required software licenses. In-person programs may provide free college laptops when you arrive on campus. Some institutions transfer permanent laptop ownership to enrollees once they earn a certain number of credits.

Many college tech perk programs include warranties or insurance for school-provided devices. These protections typically include IT assistance with hardware or software malfunctions. While some schools include damage and theft protection, others require students who lose or break their devices to pay for them.

Some accredited online colleges only provide technology packages to first-year enrollees. Depending on the institution, transfer students can also qualify for free college laptop programs, but this is less common.

The best laptops for college have updated software capabilities, include embedded webcams and microphones, and are budget-friendly. Manufacturers and retailers may offer student discount pricing, so investigate these options to save as much money as you can.

Consider your course requirements and how you need to use your laptop. For instance, a highly affordable Chromebook may offer what you need for writing and streaming lectures. On the other hand, you may need more powerful hardware to run resource-intensive software for fields like computer science or engineering.

Some scholarships and financial aid packages allow you to apply funds toward a laptop, while others provide a specific stipend reserved for laptops and other school expenses. Check with your financial aid officer regarding the use of specific scholarship funds.

For more information about the payment options available, such as credit cards, direct carrier billing, PayPal, and Google Play credit, go to accepted payment methods. If you have problems, fix payment issues on your account.

The Desktop Application (PM) is a native Windows-based application that you install onto your computer in order to access your online patient and medical billing information. The installation is easy and only takes a few minutes. Your system should meet the minimum system requirements for proper use of the application.

You are required to purchase the specified laptop computer directly from Rose-Hulman. This is necessary to ensure that you have a computer that can be serviced by the institute, and is compatible with the campus network that delivers service to classrooms, laboratories and residence hall rooms. Other units may not satisfy these requirements. The required laptop computer gives you network capability and the ability to run the software that you will need in your academic classes. The large variety of laptops on the market makes it impossible for Rose-Hulman to provide maintenance service or assistance to you with a laptop other than the required model. For these reasons, other laptop computers will not satisfy the laptop computer requirement.

You need not own a printer since printers are located near classrooms, in residence halls, in the library and in computer labs. You may wish to buy a printer for your convenience; however, Rose-Hulman does not support personal printers.
