Sara Gilbert guest stars in this episode.Leonard, Sheldon, Wolowitz and Koothrappali decide to enter the university's Physics Bowl, a game where two teams buzz in to answer questions about physics. When Sheldon starts to annoy everyone, he gets kicked off the team and they invite Leslie to be their fourth member. Sheldon forms his own team consisting of himself, the third floor janitor, the lady from the lunch room, and the lady from the lunch room's son, in an attempt to prove he can beat Leonard's team all on his own.

When I went to see this filmed I had assumed it was episode 13, because that's what made sense based on their previous filming dates. When I got a script from this episode, though, it said 1.12 on the front cover. My best guess would be that they made a typo on that week's scripts. (Not surprising, seeing as their handouts said it was 2007.) I changed the number on the thread to 1.13. Sorry for the confusion. My bad.

I thought this was the worst episode of the season so far. Funny jokes were few and far between and overall the plot just fell flat on it's face. I hope normal service will be resumed in the next episode.

Agreed. When the series first started out, I explained Sheldon to a friend as "It's like everything he does in a social setting is because someone told him that is what you are supposed to do," e.g. bringing Leonard a cup of tea because "The social convention is to bring people warm beverages." That was funny. Now, the social awkwardness seems like him knowing social conventions and disregarding them anyway. That isn't funny; that is being an egotistical jerk. The pre-strike episodes were much funnier and more intelligent than this crop. I hope the show gets back to that.

The team got to use some pretty cool weaponry this episode like the flamethrowers especially (why doesn't Lt Leeds ever get any cool weapons, eh?), and you have to admit is much more fun than a taser or tranquiliser. The SPG mean business! More violent, but it makes things a little more serious that way. That Albertosaurus needs to be put down!

When Butch saves Mooney it becomes clear what has made her character work for the past few better than average episodes of Gotham. Her connection with Butch endears her more than any amount of taunting she could give a torture-goon. With the two reunited, they actually pull off what is possibly the most difficult feat in all of Gotham; Fish and Butch upstage The Penguin.

If Ruby the space lizard ends up being the savior of the galaxy at the end of the season, then Omega will have called things correctly. Judged solely on this giant insect, nightmare-fueled episode though, Omega still has a lot to learn.

The BFHFI identified itself as an organization "dedicated to influencing Black images portrayed in film and television through education, the nurturing of current independent filmmakers and the preservation of contributions by Black artists" (BFHFI 20th Anniversary Celebration Program). Throughout its existence the BFHFI presented award ceremonies honoring contemporary and historic figures in black filmmaking. Notable programs established by the BFHFI include the Oscar Micheaux Awards Ceremony, the International Black Film, Video & Screenplay Competition, the Black Filmworks International Film Festival, and the Sidney Poitier Fellowship. Additionally, educational programs, various symposia, and lecture series on black film were conducted throughout the life of the organization.

Many of the plaques were designed and/or created by Ben Hazard, who was curator of special exhibits and education at the Oakland Museum of Califonia and actively involved with the BFHFI from its inception in 1974.
