Often tourists are curious whether it is possible to take a laptop in carry-on luggage. Ryanair allows passengers to bring a laptop into the cabin, but it is considered a separate item. This means that passengers can have either a backpack with personal belongings or a laptop bag.
Ryanair has issued a warning to passengers who are looking to carry a laptop or another electrical device with a batter on board its planes. The bargain airline are now including the message in the initial attendant introduction before a flight takes off.
New advice tells Ryanair passengers to alert crew immediately if their electronic device such as an iPad, mobile phone or laptop starts to overheat, or people lose them in their seats. If your device or its battery is damaged, hot, produces smoke, is lost or falls into the seat structure then please inform the cabin crew immediately," the flight attendants are now saying.
The message is an important one and stands in contrast to the life jacket insights, which have really needed to be brought into action. All personal electronic devices are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries and with passengers taking mobile phones, laptops and iPads on board there are hundreds on every flight.
I am looking for a new bag as I am moving to London. The intent of this bag is to be compact, light, and to conform to strict LCC requirements for Ryanair, Wizzair, and other airlines that do not charge for carrying on. The typical trip is going to be 3-4 days and I will pack light. It has to be my only bag so it also should accommodate a laptop safely.
I second the Tristar. It has two zipdown compartments that open like a book, if that makes sense, and a middle compartment that you access through a zipper across the top. Although there are clips for Tom Bihn's laptop protective carriers, I don't feel the need for them. I just put the laptop in its neoprene sleeve in the middle section and rely on my clothes in the two adjacent sections for cushioning.
"Like a game of Tetris, I place each packing cube into my rucksack, one along the bag, another in the side, my laptop slid in like normal, and the bag of liquids and makeup was placed on top for ease to take out at security.
Passengers can carry on one item of cabin luggage, equivalent in size to a small laptop bag or rucksack, and no larger than 45cm x 35cm x 16cm. Cosmetics and toiletries, liquids and sharp objects are prohibited. Passengers not travelling to the US can buy drinks after passing through airport security checks.
