Weve already told you plenty of times before. Despite the almost endless amount of videos we can watch on YouTube and similar portals, there are still people willing to download videos from the Internet to be able to enjoy them without a connection. That's why there are dozens of video or youtube downloaders, as is the case of aTube Catcher for Windows or TubeMate for Android. And to this group of programs, we also have to add the possibility to download iLivid for PC, short for Internet Live Video Download Manager.
Well, just like the two above-mentioned programs or others of the likes of KeepVid or xVideoServiceThief, this is yet another video download manager to download audiovisual contents from YouTube and other similar sites, with the advantage of incorporating its own built-in multimedia player and loads of customization options. These are some of its most noteworthy features and functions:
Using the application is as simple as pasting the links of the videos in the text field enabled for such purpose and hitting the Download button. In just a few seconds, depending on the speed of your connection, you'll have your favorite videos saved on your PC.
Despite the popularity it reached a few years ago, we're sorry to say that iLivid no longer exists as such. You might find its iLividSetup installation file lying around some hidden corner of the Internet, but if you try to launch it won't be able to access the program's former servers to download the files required. Its developers have decided to put a full stop to a project that gained a bad reputation due to the alleged malware or viruses it contained.
We can't talk exactly about malware, but when we installed the program, several toolbars for our browser also installed. On the one hand, they slowed down our browsing experience and the access to web pages, and on the other, according to several computer security firms, they gathered personal information that could later end up in the wrong hands. Therefore, it became a software that was not at all recommendable or desirable.
So, the question how to download iLivid? might not be the most appropriate because, as we've already said, it doesn't work any longer. In fact, if you've still got this video download manager on your PC, whether a Windows 10 or a previous version of Microsoft's operating system, the best question you can ask yourself is how to remove or uninstall this program?.
Here there's no possible discussion. When this program worked, and leaving out the toolbar factor, we could still argue about the advantages and disadvantages of using one application or the other, which are really quite different: whilst the former offers us the possibility to download videos straight from our favorite Internet sites (YouTube, Dailymotion or Metacafe) and direct download sites of the likes of RapidShare, Hotfile or FileServe, the latter provides us with download by means of the P2P protocol, not only of videos, movies and series, but almost any file. But nowadays, with the shutting down of this software, it's quite clear that the application based on the torrent network is the winner.
iLivid Download Manager is a convenient solution for downloading media files from sharing websites. Furthermore, it has the ability to download from URLs, torrent files, and magnet URLs. What's great about this tool is that you can play both audio and video files while the downloading process is still in progress.
The interface is intuitive and user-friendly. Downloading a video with this particular program is a hassle-free task. You just copy the torrent magnet link or the file's URL, paste it in the link bar, and start the download. As a consequence, the media file will be saved to a specific folder that you previously determined and set as the target path for all the downloads. Obviously, you are able to change the download folder from the settings menu at any moment. In the same location you will find other options that you might find useful. For instance, you can enable notifications to inform you when the download is over and the file is ready to play. Furthermore, you are able to set the number of simultaneous downloads and the maximum bandwidth.
As I already mentioned, with iLivid Download Manager you can watch a movie when the download reaches a given percentage of completion. The ability to play a video that isn't completely downloaded is very convenient. You have the chance to see whether you are about to save the file you are expecting, or decide to better stop the process and look for an alternative. more
Among the variety of free download managers found on the web, this application is a tool that I could recommend. It has ease of use as a priority, supports simultaneous downloads, and comes with a built-in popular player that supports most media file formats.
The Malwarebytes research team has determined that ilivid is a PUP bundle installer. These so-called "bundles" install various types of potentially unwanted programs on your computer, usually including toolbars, hijackers and adware.
As you can see below the full version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware would have protected you against the ilivid bundle. It would have warned you before the bundler could install the potentially unwanted programs, giving you a chance to stop it before it became too late.
ScienceSoft team composed of one architect and 10 C++ developers used the Qt framework to create the required video tool. A number of useful features distinguish it from other download managers available on the Internet:
In addition to that, the application was designed to download videos from the leading video sites such as YouTube, Vimeo, Metacafe, Dailymotion and more. ScienceSoft developers ensured a possibility to pause/ resume downloading at any time and control the download bandwidth.
I have followed all of your instructions to change my home page back to Firefox Start and it will only last as long as I stay on the internet. As soon as I close the session, my home page reverts back to this " "
i actually dont have a firefox but i do have windows. yeah yeah sue me for being in the wrong crowd or something. anyway i had to do a project for school (long story) and i downloaded a free trial for a music editing program. now every time i go to google it transports me to searchqu, every time i open a new tab it goes to searchqu. cany ou believe that! i cat even go to my TAB page cause of searchqu. i know this is just another problem and not anoter solution and "firefox beats windows" stuff, but i have to say this so people would be aware that firefox isnt the problem, and it's not just the only victim in this problem
I did the above (did the search through Windows Explorer for "searchqu" and deleted any files containing that phrase) and I also had to search for and delete any programs containing "datamngr"/data manager. Finally back to regular Firefox start up page!
I'm running Win XP and have found a solution to this problem. The Norton Utilities software has a 'disk cleanup' function.I ran this to get rid of all nonwindows code in my computer.Afterwards, I edited the program registry. using START>RUNand typing REGEDIT into the dialog box for the program name. Using the 'edit' function and the 'find' function in REGEDIT, I located all instances of the string 'searchqu/406',Changing all of them to '
google.com'.Just for good measure, I ran the registry scanning function in my Norton Utilities software. The problem hasn't come back. I then changed my homepage back to my ISP's homepage. The problem hasn't come back, even after closing the browser
None of those things helped me but I was able to find -to-remove-searchqu-uninstall-guide.html and it gives an easy step by step solution for Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome. It worked instantly for me. I hope it helps!
Hi,@cfspaid,my name is John, and I'm a member of the Searchqu Support Team. I'm here to help :)When iLivid installs onto your pc it offered two basic installs, typical installation, which lists the add-on features such as searchqu homepage, and custom installation, which allows you to select the add-ons that you wish to install. There's no need to worry if you did the typical install - this isn't a virus, nor malware, and there's no need to Perform a virus scan against it. Since Searchqu is an addon feature of iLivid, there's no need to uninstall iLivid , the iLivid Download Manager will work just fine without it :)searchqu is only a browser setting and can be easily removed by taking the next steps:
Hello. I'm one of those that downloaded "ILIVID" and loaded the "typical" download, which in turn made my home page be "Searchqu". I was not a happy camper, but it was my own fault, but who knew that Ilivid would change my homepage.
I have Firefox ver. 8.01. The above is too long of a process. On the same toolbar line where your homepage would be, if you look to the far right-hand side, you'll see a little house. Make sure your homepage is in the address field and click the little house icon...and viola...you get your home page back.
Such a program allows users to manage, organize, and schedule file transfers from the web. So it should come as no surprise that millions of people are installing such a program to aid them in their daily web browsing.
Though iLivid is basic in many ways, it is often just what the computer doctor ordered. The simplistic management system allows users to send downloads directly to folders, stream content while it is downloading, and grab video links directly off of a webpage.
Due to these special functions, users are often able to save time and effort on their downloads, as the management system simplifies the messy processes. Though it is rather basic in many ways, iLivid is still a great choice for those searching to manage and organize their downloads.
