I would appreciate to customize GPX import to GARMIN GPSMAP 60CSx like in GSAK.
For example: instead of GC code I would like to see a cache name. In comments I would like to see:
size, difficulty, terrain, hint, etc, just one letter short codes to fit 32 letters limit. Thank you for handy application.

Hi Konstantin,

I have a peculiar problem to solve as a wildlife biologist. I am out in the forests using the GPS to find locations where I can deploy camera traps to photograph and record hard to see and find animal species. However, since I am away for more than 10-15 days carrying a laptop to see the locations from my GPS overlaid on a big screen map is impossible and there is no access to electricity for charging the tablet or laptop. So I bought a google nexus 7 tablet and a powerbank to charge it in the field. Thank you very much for developing the Garmin exchanger. I have a few queries on how to use it. How do I get Nexus 7 in USB host mode. Is there a app for that? Also when I connect the GPS (I still don't have a micro-usb to USB convertor) like etrex legend, will I be able to download the files and store it where another app like "BackCountry Navigator PRO GPS" can then find use the downloaded positions and show them overlaid on a map of my study area. I can't use the built in GPS on the tablet as that will drain the batter fast and the power bank can probably only charge it once or twice while I am out.

thank you for clarifying my queries,
with best regards
Christy

First, you need to buy OTG cabel. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_On-The-Go
For example, you can buy it here http://dx.com/s/otg+cable or in any local store.

Then, connect OTG Cable to Nexus, and connect Garmin to OTG using micro usb cable.

can i connect the gps device to a tablet (samsung sm-t 520) only with an otg cable? I tried with an micro-mini cable and this does not work. Or do i have to change the settings in the gps device?

I connected from garmin 60csx with otg cable (https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B005QX7KYU/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_zzXdvb1SHGTKQ). Worked great! If course, you need the mini usb cable that comes with the device to connect to otg cable. What I would really like to see in future version is a track profile since I mostly use it for mountain biking and hiking in mountainous terrain...
Thanks for this app. It's great!
