Ujjwal Banerjee

leadindia-ujjwal-banerjee.gif

I was born and brought up in Agra and completed my 12th standard from the city. My parents are in the city while my two elder sisters are based out of Kochi and Delhi. After completing my 12 th std I moved out of the city for my higher education and stayed in diametrically opposite cities (culturally) of Warangal and then Bombay, where I have been staying since 2002.

Qualification:  B.Tech in Mechanical Engg from REC Warangal
                          MBA from NITIE, MumbaiI

I consider myself fortunate to have a caring and supportive family (like many of us) and a wonderful individual who started as a friend and then became both - my friend as well as life partner. My wife, Aarti.

I have learnt more outside my college than in the classrooms- especially from the unique  individuals whom I met at different points in time. The attempt to bring some of my ideals into practice also has instilled in me a belief in their value and confidence that they are not meant for intellectual discussions but for enriching our lives as a whole.

Where am I today?
The looking glass tells me that I am working at Akanksha, in the capacity of Manager, Human Resource.I am really enjoying this experience as it allows me to work towards the cause that I cherish from the bottom of my heart. At the same time, understanding the potential in people and getting the best people on board for keeping the fire ablaze is a challenge which always keeps me running.

My philosophy of life

Life, unlike any other concept in the world I guess, has this unusual charm of allowing itself to be defined by each individual. This is the most fascinating thing about it.   I am still trying to define what life according to me should be and I have no intent to complete this definition anytime soon…Regarding my understanding of my nation, I feel that over a period of time we have just complicated our lives by created innumerable problems. But they have arisen out of our own selfish mindsets and escapist tendencies. The challenge lies not in escaping or cribbing about these problems but in ideating and conceptualizing lasting solutions to these societal ills. I am more than confident that our nation has enough depth and brain to solve any of the problems that the world is facing today. Just that we need to think harder.

Attributes I value:
Simplicity, honesty and excellence in any activity- from watering the plants to creating a business plan.

Achievement: More than all certified achievements, I consider my success in understanding what makes me truly happy in life as the great achievement.

Long term plans:
I have strong faith in human capital and feel that as a nation we have failed to capture the potential of our people at all societal levels. Be it our political life, our performance at sports, research, science, field of humanities etc.   We have failed to retain or train the best people in the appropriate direction.I want to see my nation translate from becoming the back office of this world to a front runner in the sphere of science, art, research, training, agriculture, sports etc etc..To further this end, I want to attain a leadership position at an early stage in life so that I have maximum time to bring about radical change.

What else?
I like music- can sing a bit too :) enjoy reading a variety of topics; love watching serious as well as comedy movies; traveling to non popular
