Will anyone mind if I make an unofficial Gargoyle binary for macOS available?

Hi,

I've applied some patches of my own and others in this Gargoyle branch. I made a build on OS X 10.7 that seems to run fine on the latest macOS as well. The main changes from the official release are Retina support and full sound API. I was thinking that it would be nice to put up a binary on Github and announce it as an unofficial fork on the Intfiction.org forum, but as far as I know there have been some efforts recently to get a new official Gargoyle out, and I would not want to cause any confusion. What are your thoughts on this?

I have also been working on an unofficial version of Spatterlight with updated interpreter cores and some other stuff "borrowed" from Gargoyle. Does anyone have anything against me releasing this? I just want to be sure.

Regards,
Petter Sjölund

Please do! I have been getting the occasional query about Spatterlight
not working on modern macOS releases, and it would be great to be able
to point people to a working version. I can update the
ccxvii.net/spatterlight page to point to your build/release, just let
me know the URL to use.

Sorry for not replying! I couldn't see my posts here, so I assumed they were rejected somehow. Do new posters have to be approved?

As you may have seen on intfiction.org, I went ahead and released a new Spatterlight anyway: https://github.com/angstsmurf/spatterlight/releases

Feel free to link to it!

If you happen to have kept any old bug reports around, I'd be interested in having a look at them as well.

Regards,
Petter
