Ihave the basic Hulu. I just got a survey from them that they said would take 20 minutes, and then I was eligible for one of five $100 GC. I got 82% of the way through the survey, and it would not let me go forward. Did anybody else try to do this survey?

Oxygen isotope records of three stalagmites from Hulu Cave, China, extend the previous high-resolution absolute-dated Hulu Asian Monsoon record from the last to the penultimate glacial and deglacial periods. The penultimate glacial monsoon broadly follows orbitally induced insolation variations and is punctuated by at least 16 millennial-scale events. We confirm a Weak Monsoon Interval between 135.5 1.0 and 129.0 1.0 ka, prior to the abrupt increase in monsoon intensity at Asian Monsoon Termination II. Based on correlations with both marine ice-rafted debris and atmospheric CH4 records, we demonstrate that most of marine Termination II, the full rise in Antarctic temperature and atmospheric CO2, and much of the rise in CH4 occurred within the Weak Monsoon Interval, when the high northern latitudes were probably cold. From these relationships and similar relationships observed for Termination I, we identify a two-phase glacial termination process that was probably driven by orbital forcing in both hemispheres, affecting the atmospheric hydrological cycle, and combined with ice sheet dynamics.

My plan includes ad-supported Hulu. If there is an option to pay an upcharge to get the ad-free version of Hulu, can someone point me to it? If this is not an option it is a feature that Verizon should consider offering.

I appreciate the link and the direction. Following the recommended instruction (I was previously a Hulu subscribe prior to enrolling in this plan) I reached out to Hulu customer support as I was unable to add-on the service myself. The customer service rep told me that Verizon is blocking him from making any changes to my account, and suggested the steps I could take are:

I did the same thing. But after hours on the phone with Verizon, and Hulu...here is what I was told. If you upgrade to Hulu NO ads, then Verizon does not pay the $5.99 for Hulu, and Hulu bills you $11.99/month. Why could I just not pay the $6 upgrade to no ads? Seems like false advertising on Verizon's part..I think Verizon owes me a refund of $5.99 per month to make it right.

Mine was not recalculating to only $6 so I entered disney+ website and inside the account I clicked at the HULU in the "My Disney Services" and it recalculated the discount. SO I only pay for the no-ads updgrade.

Thanks so much for posting this. I was getting frustrated in thinking I was stuck with the ad supported version. It just kept sending me back and forth between Disney and Verizon, so glad I came across this thread, much rather pay 6 dollars than being stuck paying 11

I will be 100% honest. I try not to reward bad behavior/poor design. I dont need Hulu or disney+. I figured initially if I could get them lumped together it was worth the cost but if to get the ad free exp I have to jump through these hoops verizon will just lose this $10 extra I pay a month. They should have made it far more simple. Zero excuses for this kind of non-sense.

Is there any chance Verizon will work with Hulu and fix this so that ANY Verizon customer (not just those who had the Disney bundle before) who has Verizon's Disney bundle can log on to their Verizon account, check a box that says "upgrade to no-ads version of Hulu" and have the $6.00/mo added to their Verizon bill? This seems like a missed opportunity for both Verizon and Hulu. Hulu is missing out on $6/mo from a large number of users, and causing frustration with Hulu because users have to watch ads and cannot download Hulu shows to watch offline (e.g. on an airplane), possibly causing them to give up on watching Hulu altogether. For Verizon, they are alienating a large group of customers who were told when they upgraded to 5G (which added $10/mo/user to their Verizon bill) that they get the Disney bundle for free, only to find there's a huge catch: when you watch Hulu you have to sit through more ads than network TV, and you cannot download the Hulu content to watch it offline. There must be a solution.

Hi! You did this and didn't have problems re-subscribing to Disney+ right? I'm worried I'm going to cancel in order to upgrade Hulu and then not be able to re-subscribe. I was chatting with a Verizon rep and they just stopped answering so I thought this thread might be more helpful!

4. At this time, Hulu was still showing their charge at $11.99 per month. I then went to the Disney+ website and chose the manage account function. From this page, click on Hulu and activate Hulu as part of the bundled package. (I also did the same for ESPN+)

I have to admit I also have DirecTVNow, but then I am using multiple Tablo units and these services to support a family with 2 homes in different states and a roving RV. All in all it is much cheaper than 3 satellites or some combo of satellite and cable.

Philo is somehow connected to ViaCom which is why it has all the ViaCom channels. We watch a lot of HGTV, DIY, various food channels, etc. It filled in what we were missing by going OTA and dropping cable.

Super fans: looking for even more content from your favorite shows? Many of our network partners have exclusive clips, extras, and digital originals available to watch on their own apps. Simply sel...

All of a sudden I started getting some weird issues with streaming. I'm not sure what's going on but literally in the middle of watching a show on Hulu on one device, I started getting an error that wants me to shut off my device and try again. The issue is happening on all my devices on the network though. I ran the debug to see if I could see anything, and I see there is one issue, but I'm not sure if it is related to my current issue.

I thought i had seen some kind of error show up in the logs, but I was struggling to understand. I am open to it being a user error too. It wouldn't be my first. I can keep looking and then come back if you're saying that is what you are saying

Not to change the subject or get off topic if it is, but another issue I've had is that my wifi devices do not seem to be getting ads blocked. When i look at the queries in the admin logs, I see the devices going through. Now on my lan and wifi devices, they are all getting this issue. Again, if it is off topic and irrelevant, ignore it

@low_rider

Oh that's interesting. What do you mean that those 4 are the only "allowed hulu"? Did you blacklist anything with hulu in the domain but then whitelist those 4? Sorry. networking is not my strong suit, so maybe this is obvious.

In 2011, Hulu launched its services in Japan, marking its first and only international expansion. Three years later in 2014, Hulu Japan was acquired by Nippon TV and spun off from its American counterpart.[2]

A beta hub of Hulu launched on Disney+ in the United States on December 6, 2023,[3] with a full release later followed on March 27, 2024.[4] The hub shares similarities with the Star hub that was previously launched on Disney+ in February 2021 outside the U.S. as a substitute to Hulu.

Hulu is Mandarin for gourd. And so when we were launching Hulu, we thought, "what a great name that is." And it had this great sort of symbolism of the holder of precious things, which is the holder of premium content. So that's why we named it Hulu.[6]

Individuals who were instrumental[vague] in the founding of Hulu include Bruce Campbell,[7] Peter Chernin,[8] JB Perrette,[9] Mike Lang,[10] Beth Comstock, George Kliavkoff, Darren Feher, and Jason Kilar. Hulu was announced in March 2007 with AOL, NBCUniversal (then co-owned by General Electric and Vivendi), MSN, Myspace, and Yahoo! planned as "initial distribution partners". Jason Kilar was named Hulu CEO in late 2007.[11][12]

The name Hulu was chosen in late August 2007, when the website went live with an announcement only and no content. It invited users to leave their email addresses for the upcoming beta test.[13] In October 2007, Hulu began the private beta testing by invitation, and later allowed users to invite friends.[14] Hulu launched for public access in the United States on March 12, 2008.[15] The first product to launch was the HULU Syndication network, which was designed and developed by the NBC Universal team from New York, on October 29, 2007, led by Tom Sharma, followed by the Hulu.com destinations site.

Hulu began an advertising campaign during NBC's broadcast of Super Bowl XLIII with an initial ad starring Alec Baldwin titled "Alec in Huluwood".[16] Advertisements have since aired featuring Eliza Dushku, Seth MacFarlane, Denis Leary, and Will Arnett.[citation needed]

In July 2007, Providence Equity, the owner of Newport Television, became one of the earliest "outside" investors by purchasing a 10 percent stake in the company for US$100 million equity investment,[17] before the company was known as "Hulu".[18] With its investment came a seat on the board of directors, where Providence was said to act as an "independent voice on the board".[18] In April 2009, The Walt Disney Company joined the Hulu consortium as a stakeholder, with plans to offer content from ABC, ESPN and Disney Channel.[19][20][21][22]

Early in 2010, Hulu chief executive Jason Kilar said the service had made a profit in two quarters and that the company could top $100 million in revenue by summer 2010, more than its income for all of 2009. ComScore says monthly video streams reached 903 million in January 2010, over three times the figure for a year earlier,[23] and second only to YouTube.[24]

In June 2011, an "unsolicited offer" caused Hulu to begin "weighing whether to sell itself".[27] However, Hulu and its owners refused to sell the company, as none of the bidders offered an amount that was satisfactory to its owners.[28] In September of that year, the service launched in Japan; marking Hulu's first international expansion.[29]
