Dear Spokane area friends, Micheal Pilarski's email newsletter:
2) Update on the Inland Northwest Permaculture Conference
3) Helping on my farm in Tonasket.
“BACK TO THE GARDEN” is playing in Spokane! Back to the Garden has been shown at over 30 international film festivals, won several awards and is coming to Spokane for an Earth Day, one-night only, special screening at Spokane's Magic Lantern Theater at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. on April 23. Michael Skeeter Pilarski is one of the 6 main characters in the movie. Film director, Kevin Tomlinson and Skeeter will both be introducing the film and chatting with the audience. This gives me a great opportunity to invite a lot of people to the Inland Northwest Permaculture Conference. Can you join us at one of the showings? If you haven’t seen this documentary film before, here is a great opportunity to see it on a big screen with a large, like-minded audience. Bring friends, spread the word. You can check out the trailer at the website: www.backtothegardenfilm.com
The INLAND NORTHWEST PERMACULTURE CONFERENCE is coming along nicely.
* Spokane Falls Community College is our venue for INPC on November 4-6, 2011
* We have located some good-quality dormitories to rent for out-of-town participants.
* We already have four official sponsors (and one donor) and are looking for more sponsors. Sponsor letter attached if you want to show it to anyone.
* We already have around 12 speakers lined up and they represent a lot of skills and experience. We are looking for more presenters. We will have a presenter letter put together by May 5
* A great team of organizers has come together, but we still need more people to join us for specific departments. If you are interested (and not already on the team) I will email you a list of positions upon request.
* We have a webmaster and a graphic artist ready to do our poster/printed materials, once some more pieces of the puzzle have come together.
* Attached is the interim poster/brochure.
* Our next Spokane meeting is May 5, Thursday evening 5:00-8:00 pm at Mary Kate Wheeler’s residence in Spokane, 1931 W. 15th Ave. (off of Inland Empire Way). More details on the meeting in an email closer to the date.
HELP ON MY FARM
* I am looking for short-term help on my farm. Over the next month I have to plant several acres with lots of medicinal herbs, vegetables, berries, trees, shrubs, flowers, etc. Right now it is just me and my co-worker Nate to get the job done, so we would love some short-term help if someone has a couple days or a week to spare. We’ll feed you and give you plants to take home.
* Can anyone drive over on May 13, Friday? My new intern is flying into Spokane airport at 1:30 pm and needs a ride to Tonasket. It would save me the trip if someone wanted to come over that day and help for a few days.
* If interested email me or call me at 509-486-4056. Land line with answering service if I am not in the house.
Best wishes to all,
Michael Skeeter Pilarski
