Thanks everyone for coming on Saturday. Here's the notes and actions:

Money
  • Rob to speak to TRA about more funding from them. Apparently they have money they need to spend before April.
  • Rob have a look at GroundWorks.org.uk see if there is any money/help we can get from them
Rob still owed £150 from GofA account. Waiting for check to clear. Marco paid back £150

Getting new members
We have about 4 spaces available with the intention to fill them all with people from estates falling under our TRA.
  • Suzanne to get out flyer done last time & send to Rob who will print out enough flyers for Aden Lodge as well as posters for all blocks
  • Rob to send email to all addresses Jack has for estate asking if anyone wants to get involved.

Further Development of area
  • Daphne to arrange a meeting with Jusleen Rai from Hackney Homes - get her to come down and see the area and meet Ezra/Marco.
  • Daphne also to arrange meeting with HH head of gardening - Michael to make sure they're happy wit what we're doing.
Mess/Dog Poo in plots and grass area
  • Everyone to do a general clean up of rubbish when they're down there.
  • Tell estate manager about dog poo at next TRA meeting and ask for a sign to be put up.

Hi everybody

Here's a draft poster, for speed I've left it pretty much as the last
time.

Please check the text and send any amends to me.

I can then also do some smaller flyers with the same text. I've left
'Aden Lodge residents' in the title on this one just so it is clear
that it is not open to the general public.

I think we were going to do Aden first. For the other blocks I can
either put block names on or we can take the heading off and do a note
at the bottom explaining that the offer is just for the tenants of this
TRA .

Regards

Suzanne

Dear Suzanne
First, just a point. In last para you say offer open to Tenants-this could be taken to mean just Council Tenants and not Leaseholders so always better to use "Residents"
Re Poster. How difficult is it to change wording without losing the lovely images? If not too time consuming could it be addressed to "All Residents in the blocks(covered/managed) by the "Burma, Arakan & Clissold (small blocks) TRA"
Then the" Would you like to grow F&V "
Then
"In the communal garden behind Aden Lodge"
If done as such it could be used any time. By the way no posters in Avon House because they do have  their own communal garden with plots. Don't know about Green Lanes Block they do have their own garden but no-one has shown any interest in using it since the one resident years ago when we managed to have the garden fenced and Hackney Homes grassed and and planted something in the "wrong" place.

Hi Suzanne,

That looks great for the Aden lodge people :) I will print out 20 copies for posting to Aden. Great work, thank you!

For the non Aden people the wording will obviously need to be changed to note the location. I think it would be easier logistically to just do one generic one for all blocks. I've attached some photos which could be used?

Dear All,

It was lovely to meet you all last week. Thank you for your time showing me around your site.
I have followed up some requests from you and here the answers I have.

1. Can you have more funding to expand your community vegetable garden or possibly new flower garden for bees.
London Mayer did not allocate any budget for Capital Growth to fund community gardens this year, so answer is no unfortunately.
However Capital Growth is running training for funding on 8th of July(I hear that some people think it is very late in the season.. but better later then never!)
Capital Growth member would receive half price discount, so that's £12.50 per person.

- also for funding, you might consider using online fundraising platform, "Spacehive".

Capital Growth has partnered with an online crowd fundraising platform, called Spacehive. Spacehive works by setting up a webpage for small to medium size community projects looking for funding. People that would like to support the project can then make a donation towards it through the website. Spacehive helps the project to attract funding by using their social networks, such as Twitter and Facebook connections, amongst others.

2. Advice from Aida on how to get permission from Hackney council, etc..
Aida works for Capital Growth twice a week. My supervisor Gillian asid she would ask Aida to contact you.
Please drop me a line if you don't hear form her and if you still would like to see her and get her advice on your challenges you are facing.
I will follow up then.

3. and here is the link to the discounts offered for Capital Growth Members

4. Finally, here is the link to free good quality recycled compost from Edmonton Eco Park - for the future reference

The poster is looking great! I hope you will find new members and have fruitful summer ahead!

Please let me know if there are any further questions!

Best wishes,

Hi

I've done the changes, sorry for the delay, but hopefully just in time
for the new growing season! It would have been more complicated to
incorporate the pics you sent Rob, next time maybe?

If you can print them out Rob, then they can be put up by whoever puts
up the TRA meeting posters in the next day or two.

Any typos or copy changes please let me know.

Regards

Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,

This is great. I'm going to print copies out at work tomorrow and take them to the TRA meeting on Monday so they can be given to someone who can put them up.

Thanks for doing this.

Rob
