My fellow Agile Scrum Enthusiasts,
For the 3rd GSSUG monthly gathering, we had a small group attending the event. E&Y was kind enough to lend their conference room for our meeting once again last month. Big Thanks to Eugene Belkin for helping us get this facility.
We had the following agenda for our meeting:
1) “How is Agile Scrum applied to your specific organization and challenges”
2) “Problems with team members”
3) “Real Life Scrum Patterns (Problems – Solutions)
4) How Scrum gets started at organizations
a. Rolling it out and maintaining momentum even after initial implementers are gone
However, due to popular demand, we focused on the first topic which consumed the entire session. We had a very healthy discussion led and managed by our Agile Coach Nitin Khanna. I am amazed at his enthusiasm, Scrum Knowledge and most of all the methodical approach that he applies to each session. Huge Thanks to Nitin for helping us get better at these gatherings. The discussion focused on the value of Scrum, where it can be applied and comparison with Waterfall and how Agile Scrum differentiates itself.
Regarding the next monthly meeting, I am still working on identifying the venue. It would be either Jersey City (near a PATH train station) or Newark, NJ so that folks from NYC, South Jersey and North Jersey can attend. Since we don’t have a place yet, next event would be in June. I will follow up soon with the finalized location and date.
Thanks,
Asim Malik
