We want to make the GCCA Trash Committee more effective. Our monthly trash cleanups are becoming less well-attended. I suspect it's because people don't want to do this first thing in the morning on the weekend. I think it also feels a bit pointless since it really needs to be done weekly.
I'm considering cancelling the cleanup events, and replacing them with a more decentralized trash cleanup group. The idea is that we will break our trash route into a few areas, and then people will sign up to clean individual areas on their own time. There will be a spreadsheet with a weekly slot for each area. I'm hoping people can sign up for one or more slots per month. This way we will clean more frequently, and people will have more flexibility about when to clean. Please share any feedback you have.
