Hello Matt,

Simley has been a wonderful partner and school for our students. We have two students, Linus and Valentin from Germany who still need a host family to be able to come on program this fall. Could send something to parents/students who are in German just to let them know we are looking for a host family?

Below is a short blurb that could be used(and their bios are below if you have room/want to include them) and includes my contact information. Please let me know if I can answer any questions or provide more information. Thank you!!

Host an AFS high school exchange student!

AFS is looking for a host families for Linus and Valentin from Germany who are coming to our area this fall. Host families provide a bed, food, & loving support. Students come with their own health insurance and spending money. Families of all types; married, single, single parents, young children, no children, can host. Families have the option to host for the school year, semester or just 12 weeks. Will you be that person, that family who makes a world of difference in the life of a young person? Please contact Lisa Boynton at: lboy...@afsusa.org or 651-356-1848(call or text) to learn more or www.afsusa.org/host-family

Meet Linus from Germany

Gender: Male

Age (at arrival): 16 years

Program length: Year

Religion: Protestant

GPA: Good

ELTiS: 224

Linus has been a champion handball team player for 7 years and wants to expand his skills to American football, basketball, and baseball. When not playing sports, he's playing guitar or listening to music. His teachers and parents see him as calm and enthusiastic at the same time. He is gregarious, always trying to connect to people. He's a good student, thinking of a career in law. Linus is a "family guy"  and enjoys sharing meals and going to movies or sporting events with his parents and sister. He's excited to make memories with his U.S. host family, just like his sister did in 2017!

Meet Valentin from Germany

Gender: Male

Age (at arrival): 16 years

Program length: Year

Religion: Christian

GPA: Good

ELTiS: 223

Valentin is a young man from Germany who friends and family describe as curious, helpful, and open-minded. One of his main hobbies is playing cello; in fact, his whole family enjoys playing chamber music together. Valentin also loves staying active; playing soccer, biking, hiking, and swimming are some of his favorite activities. He thinks spending a year in the U.S. will be a great way to immerse himself in a different culture, improve his English, and become a more independent person. Valentin is looking forward to spending time with his American host family this year!
