How about a new category of indicators, "Google data"? "Google data"
leads to the number of Gmail accounts, Gmail's sent per day per
account and maybe even how many accounts use each one of the Google
products not just Gmail, etc., etc. That would make it easy to make a
graph that shows "Well, no wonder this country has a low income per
person, look at their low use of Google Finance and they're sending
over 4,200 Gmail's per person per day!" Just playing, but the
original spark of this idea was wondering how countries rank in terms
of Gmail usage, understanding that one person can have 15 Gmail
accounts-- maybe population vs. Google accounts would be interesting.
Ooh, another one could be "Google products per account"-- has this
account ever accessed Calendar, or News, or Flu trends-- ooh, Flu
trends would be a good category of indicators. Back up to the number
of Google products used per account-- that might show that one
country's usage runs deep, but not very broadly. (yeah, but who
cares, never mind on that last one)
What do ya think? It's gotta be feasible, it's not like Google would
have to go far to get the data...
