Hey guys, one of my groups is asking if we used any type of software or templates for planning out the GAP project; they are planning on using MS Project, I think it may be a little overboard.

In my group, we just used a bare bones spreadsheet and laid out deadlines and milestone dates.

Just wondering if you guys have any suggestions or templates of what you did...

Thanks,
Krishna

MS project is totally overkill, IMHO. We used a combo of Basecamp and
google spreadsheets. We put all the hi level milestones and subsequent
tasks into Basecamp, linked it up to our respective calendar apps (via
iCal) and used a spreadsheet as our CRM to keep track of all our
primary interview contacts. It was easy, transparent, and well, it
worked!

Cheers,
Rob.

Same here... to track everything, our team used a combination of spreadsheets, Google docs, and sharepoint.  I don't think MS project is necessary and it could even complicate the process for them, but if the team finds that it is actually easiest for them then it could work.
