Hi Fellows!

Keith and I took a stab at narrowing to have one fellow per company. Most fellows have 3 companies, some have 4. We did our best to assign you to companies you signed up for, but of course, there were companies where no one signed up, so we needed to assign some based on what we thought would be a good fit considering your work/GAP experiences.

Take a look - and if there are certain companies that you feel strongly about, please feel free to contact the fellow assigned and see if you can switch with them, and let us know if there's a change.

Have a great weekend!

Team:

Let's try and finalize the assignments by Monday so that those with teams assigned in Round 1 can start reaching out to their teams.

Let the coaching begin! :)

These look good to me also!  Thanks for working on this, Sachiko and Keith!  If anyone needs to unload one of their teams, I'm happy to grab another.

Thanks,
Ashley

I haven't heard about any changes, so I think we're good to go!

For those of you who have teams already, feel free to reach out and introduce yourselves.

Sachiko,

Perhaps I missed this, but how do we contact our teams?  Is there an email list posted somewhere?

Thanks for coordinating.

Brad

Maybe the best way to start is with their Anderson emails.  They can then let us know if they’re using a group email for the team (e.g., Google group) or if they want to use personal emails for GAP.

Sorry, my question was more basic.  How do we know what students are on the teams?  All I saw was a list of companies next to team numbers.

FYI, Aerograph has withdrawn from the program.  It appears it has been replaced by The Crucible Group.  Will the Fellow with Aerograph be able to switch over?

Fellows,

Here's a sample Fellow introduction from our fellow from last year. Feel free to use it as guidance or not. If any of you have other good examples, feel free to share with the group as well.

Sample Fellow Intro

Intro

My name is Kathryn Vargas and I am pleased to let you know that I am your GAP fellow. Having survived GAP and having learned much from the experience, I have a lot of knowledge to share regarding my experiences that I hope will help you with your experience. I am available for any type of question and you can feel free to contact me at any time. This is the best email to reach me at as it goes to my iphone. You are also welcome to call me at 858-774-8756. My team and I utilized our resources, so please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Set up a meeting with me on Saturday

I will be attending and presenting at this weekend’s Student Launch. I would like to introduce myself while I am there Saturday and meet with you. I am sure that Saturday will be quite busy, but I definitely would like to come by and spend as much or as little time as you can afford. Please get back to me with a time and location so I can make sure to come by and meet everyone.

About Me

For a little on my background, I have my BS in Chemical Engineering and went to work for Kodak in Product Development for 3 years prior to UCLA, having wanting to work in consumer products. I worked on Kodak’s first home printer; our team was the model entrepreneurial team for the company and we launched three successful versions of the product into the market. During this time, I gained experience in product development, project management, and marketing. Though I thought I was sure of my career path in beginning the MBA program,  after taking a few marketing classes, I felt I found my calling in Brand Management as it is the blend of analytical and creative I have been looking for, so this is the direction I am currently heading in. I have been interning at a skin care company for the past year in Marketing and am currently looking for a position in CPG Brand Management.

What can I do for you?

My main focus in the GAP program was to provide the GAP office with a business plan and presentation which fit their needs, as well as provide the company with the most comprehensive research for their needs. I am great at creating a plan and structure for success, and it seemed to pay off, so I am happy to share my tips for success. That being said, you will definitely want to also utilize your financial resources early and as needed; this isn’t my area of expertise and there are many people who are excellent at it.

Why Footbalance?

Each GAP Fellow was able to choose the company they wanted to be a liaison for, and I chose Footbalance because of my interest and experience in consumer products.

I am looking forward to meeting you all in person to introduce myself if we haven’t already met and to discuss any questions you have regarding GAP. Please don’t forget to email me a time to meet!

Hi fellows,

I seem to be having a small issue e-mailing my groups.  I sent introductory e-mails to two of my teams, but got numerous bounce-backs.  Is there a way the GAP office could send us an e-mail list for each team, so we ensure our communications go through?  If that's not possible, can anyone suggest another way to ensure we have the correct e-mail addresses for our teams?

Thanks!
Ashley

Hmm - that's strange. Is anyone else having that problem?

Ashley,

Could you send me a list of the people from whom you're getting bounceback emails? I'll contact the GAP office and verify email addresses for them.

Thanks, Sachiko!  It looks like someone from each of the teams received my e-mail, so I should be okay.

Thanks,
Ashley
