a beginer's issue - can't see logo

I am new to Joomla and Gantry - so thank you for your patience and
help in advance.

I installed the Gantry bundle and started "playing" with it to create
an RTL site.
For some reason the logo stopped appearing and I can't find the way to
make it re-appear. I did try the template features - the logo is "on"
and defined to appear on "header a", but even when I tried different
positions it would not show...
could you give me a direction to check?
