hi,
I am trying to build a website with Afterburner2 tempalte, which is the
latest free template developed by RocketTheme and surely is based on Gantry
Framework v4.
Now I met a difficulty:
I want to set up "split menu", that is to say, the horizontal main menu only
show first level , not show any submenu item, at the same time, all those
submenu items will be shown on split menu module which will be published to
Sidebar-A position.

But, the problem is: though I had choose to only show "start level: 1" and
"end level: 1" in the Main Menu module parameters, the top main menu still
show dropdown submenu items.

How can I hide/disable those dropdown effect on the top horizontal main
menu?

Thanks.

Hi there,

Have you gone into the menu tab of the template and selected split menu or is it still set to dropdown?

Hope this helps 8-)

Hi,

I had looked into that Menu tab in template manager, but there is only one option: Dropdown-Menu.

Maybe RT team had stripped some options in this free template?

Thanks.

Hmmm that doesn't sound right but it's been a little bit since I used that template. Do you have RokNavMenu installed? Try adding that and see if this helps because it sounds like David's suggestion was the issue but not having the option in the template sounds off to me.

Interested to hear why this would be. Do you have the latest version of Gantry and AfterBurner2 installed? Something seems wrong here.

Hi there,

Oops - you are correct. To keep the file sizes down they did strip out a lot of the normal stuff.

You could use the free Gantry template which is where I often start if I am doing a custom template.

Hope this helps 8)

What a pity!

But I don’t know CSS too much. The default Gantry blank template is too ugly for me, too difficult for me to modify.

Is it possible to add/overwrite some files to make this free Afterburner2 template as a full-featured Gantry template? If possible, please tell me which files should I upload to where?

Thanks.

The Afterburner2 template I installed is v1.1 version, which is the latest at present.

I did not find RokNavMenu on the module list, but when I use the “discover” function of Joomla core, it listed this module and then I installed it. And its version is 2.0.7, the latest at present.

The Gantry version in this free template is v4.1.19, after I read your last post, I updated it to the latest v4.1.20, but nothing solved.

I am not a programmer, so I hope the authors of this free template, that is to say, the RocketTheme team, to make this template “full-feated”.

Any chance you added RokNavMenu and it sorted your issue? Just like to confirm either way to know if the help provided was a success or not. Thanks as I honestly I'm not sure.

I also tried your idea. I chose “off” for the Menu tab in template, then I published that RokNavMenu module to header-a position, but nothing shown up.

Sorry I know nothing about php programming, so I think I can not solve this problem my self.

Only when the RT team updated this free template then this “split menu” feature can be implemented.

The bad news is, I can not post on RT forum since I am not a paid member.

Can anyone in this group solve this?

Thanks.
