I'm having an issue with some articles in Joomla 3.4.8 and Gantry5 and the Hydrogen theme.
I upgraded to Gantry5 using the Hydrogen theme and deleted Gantry4 template from the site.

I made a new template outline for blog pages and assigned it to specific categories, however 2 articles in the same category are using the default template.

I added a class to the body tag so I could distinguish which template outline a page was using.

I visually compared the good article to the bad one in Joomla and in mySQL and I don't see anything majorly different.
When I make a new article and assign it to the blog category it ends up with the Default outline instead of the Blog outline.

So is there someplace the cache isn't touching to get the pages to use the right template?
Is there a table that Gantry5/Hydrogen uses to assign the outline to an article that isnt' getting updated?

And yes, I'm in development mode in Gantry/Hydrogen and have cleared the caches, etc.

Any ideas?

So you assigned the blog outline to the blog category menu item or no? And then assigned the articles to that blog category? I would double check the blog menu item itself and make sure it is assigned to the template outline you desire. Also may want to get further help using the Gantry5 gitter for live help.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of your outline, but I use gantry all the time with Jomla. The folks at RocketTheme are usually very quick to respond to support tickets. I'd recommend opening a ticket with them to raise the question. My experience with them has been an answer within 24 hours every time.

I did some more testing and found that the particle assigned to the Navigation on one outline was different than the other, despite being named the same way. One was the Menu particle and the other was a Module instance with the name 'Menu'
So, that was the main cause of that issue. And, secondarily, when the blog outline was copied from the default, the changes made to the header background color were not manually made to both outlines, only one, thus the differences in how the pages looked.
Everything seems to be A-O-K now.

Thanks for the feedback.
And BTW - I did post the question on Gitter and never heard anything back.

Brad,

Totally agree that Gitter sucks.

I'm sorry that you guys don't like Gitter but you should really try a little harder at using it.  Change comes to all... eventually.

@Luke, You received a response immediately after you posted your concern regarding the use of Gitter over this Google Group.  I even wrote to you via private message.

@Brad, You also received a response from Mahagr an hour later and he tagged you using the name you signed up with.  So your claim that you never heard anything back is unfounded.

I didn't like Gitter either but after I started using it I much prefer it over the Google Group forum here.  If you take the time to you use it and get to know it's features it grows on your quite quickly.

regards,

Michael,

I don't mind changing as I've been changing for 45+ years in my business careers but I see no real advantage of Gitter over Groups.  Maybe others like the freestyling Twitter type feed as well as going to setup a separate type of subject related thread but for me the simplicity of Groups is much easier to use.  I'd much rather single-task than multi-task when working on problems.  However, if I can't get help or help here, I'll try Gitter but only as a last resort.  I guess I'll be using the Gantry forums a lot more from now on.
