Onceyou're done with this, continue from step 5 of Antony Hatchkins' answer. After you have added the extension ID(s), you can check that the policy is working in Chrome by opening chrome://policy (search for ExtensionInstallWhitelist).

This question is enormously old but is still the top result on google when you search for ways to try to disable this popup message as an extension developer who hasn't added their extension to the chrome store, doesn't have access to group policies due to their OS, and is not using the chrome dev build. There is currently no official solution in this circumstance so I'll post a somewhat 'hacky' one here.

This method has us immediately create a new window and close the old one. The popup window is associated with the original window so in normal use cases the popup never appears since that window gets closed.

Additionally we can detect how this extension is installed and only run this code if it is a development install (although probably best to completely remove altogether from release code). First we create the callback function for a chrome.management.getSelf call which allows us to check the extension's install type, which is basically just wrapping the code above in an if statement:

This method has some caveats, namely we are assuming a persistent background page which means the code runs only once when chrome is first opened. A second issue is that if we reload/refresh the extension from the chrome://extensions page, it will close all windows that are currently open and in my experience sometimes display the warning anyways. This special case can be avoided by checking if any tabs are open to "chrome://extensions" and not executing if they are.

You'll still have to pack it in details for the problem extension, but after that you can turn off developer mode and load the packed CRX through this. You don't have to deal with signing it or anything.

Currently all solutions including -Developer-Mode-Extension-Warning-Patcher did not work for me anymore. At the time of writing, the following issues are open ( -Developer-Mode-Extension-Warning-Patcher/issues/98 and -Developer-Mode-Extension-Warning-Patcher/issues/99 as well) affecting at least Edge and Yandex Browser (which is Chrome-based), confirming I am not alone with the issue.

I kept searching for alternative solutions, and found this: - basically, it just a small executable to be placed in a startup folder and it will detect and close annoying "Disable developer mode extensions" message. It comes with source code, which is very small and easy to review. Author included precompiled binary, so if you prefer to use it, just put it in the Windows startup folder and you are done, after reboot it will be working.

I preferred to compile myself, so below I describe how I did it for those who share the same preference. To compile it without errors I had to change source code a bit (my changes are mentioned in comments):

I downloaded Delphi Community Edition for free from here -download and opened the closevatel.dpr file with the source code shown above, and clicked Project > Build closevatel (Shift+F9). Then I got closevatel.exe file I could put in the Windows startup folder.

Basically, what the code does, it looks every 200 milliseconds (defined by the "Sleep(200)" line) for English and Russian strings with the annoying "Disable developer mode extensions" warning including variations with NBSP in them, and closes it automatically. It does not have noticeable CPU usage, and should work more reliably than direct hacks of the browser's binaries.

I'm not sure if this is still a problem for people or not. However, I read through this post and several others and finally played around with this and was able to make it work in C# using this code. I derived it all from this post and possible some posts linked to this post.

Unfortunately I cant automate setting it to developer mode because of restrictions in width using the browser in iphone mode. I have found a dangerous workaround for now, install the dev channel version of chrome. It does not have the warning message, but im sure it will cause me more problems in the long run when problems are introduced. Still will hopefully give me a few days to find a workaround.

1) Download Verok's GL Wrapper and Patch from this post on the GOG Forums: _omen_legacy_of_kain/veroks_gl_wrapper_patch/post32 - you can choose either the full install (which includes patched cutscenes) or the minimal version (which only contains the basic patch and language subs). There are other places where you can download this fanpatch, but regardless of where you get it, make sure you get version 1.75, as it is the version that's fully patched to work with the GOG version.

After that the game should work flawlessly. I recommend using the full install version of the patch, since it includes fixed cutscenes; in addition to fixing the game to work on modern hardware, it also resolves various gameplay bugs and issues, including game slowdowns.

Then when I apply the patch, I get the little settings popup dialog box where you can change resolution and stuff like that, which is great, but then immediately after I get a prompt telling me that I need to insert the CD.

EDIT: So I started adding the patch files in one at a time. It seems that when ever I change anything inside the "KAIN" folder, the CD prompt returns...CD prompt also remains if I change the contents of the KAIN folder back to how they were before. Odd..

Also, when I put all patch files into the game folder EXCEPT for the files in the "KAIN" folder, I can skip the intro cutscenes and get to the main menu and start a game....so it's playable...but I'd really like those high quality audio/video files.

UPDATE 1*** : Alright. I was able to successfully install the patch!

So the instructions say that you have to extract the zip folder inside the game folder and have the files replaced as it's extracting. I was skipping that step because the standard MacOS software doesn't allow for "Extract Here and Replace Files". So I was extracting and manually replacing files...which I find kind of odd that that method doesn't work...but whatever.

Now I have a new issue with the game freezing as soon as you get control of your character at the bar. The frames shoot up all the way to 160 fps and then go back down to .2 FPS before locking in place. You can also hear the bartender repeating his "Tavern's closed, Stranger." line a couple times before the freeze.

From the Tutorial:

If your PC's processor is faster than about 1.5 GHz, you will need a utility to slow down your PC. Otherwise the game will lock up after Kain's speech in the Tavern (or possibly his Mausoleum). The old MS DirectShow CPU Grabber can also be downloaded from the Blood Omen PC Patch for XP and Vista article. Other utilities may work just as well or better for you.

1) Install the game with Crossover.

2) Run winecfg and define a ddraw (native, builtin) library override for Kain.exe.

3) Launch the game once with Crossover 21.2.0. A "Blood Omen requires the CD" nag message will appear [*], but the game will succeed in creating the file "Cfg\PTEMP.TMP", which is required to launch the game without crashing in the next step.

4) Play the game with Crossover 20.0.4.

[*] This is not a copy protection issue. Instead, it appears to be a Wine regression related to opening files(!?). If you're handy with Hiew32, take a look at the routine at address .004127CC. Patching .00412849: 68 A4 12 50 00 will display the name of the file path that causes fopen() to fail. Vexing!

Beginning in October, merchants in the United States were required to use PoS terminals that provide support for chip-enabled cards or otherwise risk liability for fraudulent charges. These new chip-enabled readers help minimize the chance for PoS malware to steal payment card information because the chip on the payment card generates a single use token. This transition, however has been bumpy at best because the cost of new chip-enabled readers has made it difficult to upgrade to the newer readers. Another loophole is that gas stations have a different timeline and are not required to move to chip-based readers until October 2017. These two factors mean that many establishments still rely on card readers that are not chip-enabled and sending payment card data that can be duplicated and reused.

Pro PoS is simple-to-use PoS malware that is available for purchase, enabling multiple threat actors to easily take advantage of this malware to target businesses. The functionality of Pro PoS seems fairly extensive according to recent press releases. These claims include the following:

In order to analyze the actual capabilities of Pro PoS, Talos collaborated with Flashpoint, a pioneer in threat intelligence from the Deep & Dark Web. Not all of the claims in the press releases seem to be totally accurate given the Pro PoS version 1.1.5b sample that Talos analyzed. For instance we did not identify any significant mechanisms to avoid antivirus detection, other than a trivial packer that seemed to be more for compression than obfuscation. Unless you include tor2web, we did not find support for Tor. We did not find a Polymorphic engine. And finally, we did observe a rootkit being installed but it did not appear to be used by the malware.

The Pro PoS client malware uses a modified version of Alina, which had its source code leaked earlier this year. In this version, the malware utilized a simple packer that does not contain any anti-analysis checks. Given the simplicity of the packer and the fact that it even leaves some of the string in the binary unaltered, it is likely that the packer was meant to simply compress the binary, instead of trying to make the examination of the binary more complicated.

The Config page allows the controller to force bots to download and execute a file from a URL. This feature appears to be broken and not updating the mysql table that is read from when commands are sent to the bots. Manually adding entries in the mysql table does work. The PHP seems to be the weakest link in this toolkit.
