Hi.

It's Mike Vizdos (I may have not met everybody on here yet even though
it is a small group) and I am the Executive Director for Gangplank
Henrico.

Thanks for subscribing to this group.

Just wanted to give you an update since our first meeting last week
and going into our open meeting time this coming Tuesday.

Mark and I have been working on looking at spaces and we'll have more
information about our progress by Tuesday. Exciting things happening
there. We are also actively reaching out to local government and
NGO's to get the buzz going in town. People are interested and not
sure really what to do with us (smile).

If you have not taken a look at www.whatisgangplank.com please do.
There are short videos at that site describing the concept that has
been around for many years in Chandler, Arizona. I am actually out
here this week working with the Executive Director and Operations
Director -- and actually doing my "real world job" from the facilities
here.

I'd love to start a discussion on this thread to see what you (and the
others here so far) *think* what Gangplank really *is* and *should be*
for us as we move forward.

You hear a lot about collaborative workspaces. Free. Not co-working
and not an incubator. Paying it forward with social capital.

Thoughts?

Also... let me know if you'll be able to help out on Tuesday morning
(9-12) at the Twin Hickory library. A few things will be happening
there -- from introductions to possibly even people starting to do
work together!

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Mike for all of your work out in AZ meeting with the folks at
Gangplank HQ.

We will have a lot to update folks on at the meeting on Tuesday
morning - there are many folks around Richmond interested in helping
this movement that I have been meeting with and Tuesday will be the
genesis of it all.

Everyone I talk with about Gangplank loves the idea - after they look
a bit confused about how something so awesome could be "free," the ah
ha moment hits them and they get it.

Spread the word about Tuesday so we can have as many voices as
possible deciding what our Gangplank will be.

See you all then.

Mike,

This is Steve - I came a bit late to the last meeting at the coffee shop
from Williamsburg. I am planning on coming on Tuesday to hear more and see
what others are thinking.

Looking forward to it.
