Painting the Town Green
Not much Irish luck on the weather, but the Carpenters Union is still a sea of green at annual St. Patrick's Day festivities on Chicago's south and northwest sides, in Kansas City and elsewhere. You don't have to hail from the Emerald Isle to enjoy a good time, march in a parade and show off your union pride! Thank you to all our families for participating.

| | Leadership from the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, Premise Health and the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Benefit Services officially opened our new Kansas City Wellness Center. Thank you to MACRC leadership in remaining steadfast in making sure the center is open and being utilized. The Wellness Center is making a brighter and healthier future for all KC-area members and their families. And a special thanks to UBC 2nd General Vice President Gary Perinar for making the trip to speak at the Grand Opening! (Click below to watch local news coverage of our grand opening.) | | Congrats to INSTALL Warranty contractor Flooring Resources Corporation for winning the prestigious Best in Show award at the Fuse Spark Awards. The job was completed by Local 1185 installers under the direction of signatory GC J.C. Anderson. The winning project involved the transformation of a Chicago office high-rise lobby and mezzanine into a chic bar, lounge, and gaming area. Our members were able to get this done in a tight window and a congested workspace. Outstanding work! | | Forest Park Community College in St. Louis is meeting future workforce demands with this $30 million expansion to its campus. Union Carpenters are helping Russell Construction build the school’s new Transportation Training Center, which will teach mechanics and truck driving when it opens next school year. | | We had a great turnout at Local 790's steward class held at the Rockford campus recently. We always encourage our members to become more involved with their Union and we’re proud of these Brothers for taking the next step! | | Some Federal Contractors Not Getting Paid | | Hundreds Attend St. Louis Career Fair | | Welcome: Meet some of our newest members, apprentices who were recently sworn in with Local 272 and Local 1.
