New Stadium for KU

Union Carpenters are performing all scopes of the carpenter trade at the $450 million renovation of KU's Football Stadium. Turner Construction is the general contractor on the massive project upgrading the football stadium. The renovations include a new scoreboard, a new conference center, elevated seating and premium seating that's closer to the on-field action. Construction is on schedule to be completed for this year's football season. #WeBuildStrong

- Here to Help -

MACRC President Joel Pogose joined the Workers Mic on WGN to share his personal story of how union benefits helped save his son’s life and kept his family out of bankruptcy. Thank you President Pogose for sharing this incredibly moving story and reminding us of the life-changing benefits unions provide. #UnionProud

- Hands On -

About 400 Chicago Public Schools students came out to our Chicago Training Center this past week to attend a hands-on skilled trades event where they learned how to set forms, cut tile, hang drywall and other crafts of our trade. The event - a partnership with CPS, city agencies, City Colleges of Chicago, labor unions and contractors - exposed students from all over the area to the pathways to the middle class that exist in the skilled trades. Thanks to all our instructors and representatives who helped fill in to provide these students with expert training and instruction. And thanks to the students who expressed interest in becoming carpenters. We hope to see you join our ranks. #WeBuildCareers

- Hospital Expansion -

Mercy South Hospital in St. Louis is getting expert treatment on this major expansion. Union Carpenters with Musick Construction are building a $7.7 million vascular clinic for the therapy and care of cardiac patients.

- Pitching In -

MACRC volunteers teamed up with Rebuild Together Metro Chicago to do safety upgrades for seniors in the Maywood area recently. These residential upgrades allow the residents to live comfortably in a safer home. Hats off to the carpenters with big hearts for donating their skills and valuable time.
