The Midwest got walloped this weekend with the first major storm of the year. Making things worse, freezing temps will be sticking around for a while causing hazardous working conditions. It's a good time to take a minute to review these cold weather safety tips.

- Newsworthy -

In case you missed it, here's a look back at our Mid-America Carpenters making news in 2024. From recruiting and training, to volunteering in the community, there's much our members do that deserves attention.

Well Deserved: Congratulations to these members of Local 662 in southern Illinois receiving their service pins. Many longtime brothers, sisters and friends in this group!

Do You Know Mass Timber?

Mass Timber is expected to start making an impact in the St. Louis market soon. A lot of work - and many man-hours - will be coming our way, but only if our members are properly trained on this emerging sector of our industry.

To ensure readiness, members should begin preparing by completing the following essential training qualifications and certifications: MEWP / Rough Terrain / Signaling / Rigging Awareness / Rigging Qualification (recommended for lead persons) / Mass Timber Training.

Visit the St. Louis campus training page. For any questions or to enroll, please contact Ed Doyle at 314-457-8300.
