On behalf of EST Kevin McLaughlin and all of us at the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas! Enjoy the time with your loved ones! | Tradespeople worked nearly 100,000 injury-free hours on the Dallman 4 Carbon Capture Project at City Water Light & Power in Springfield. Congrats to the Central Illinois Building & Construction Trades Council and our safety-conscious carpenters for being awarded the NMAPC's prestigious Zero Injury Safety Award. | Work continues on the Blue Springs Career Innovation Center outside of KC. Union Carpenters are installing ceiling panels and getting the finish work in place before it opens next school year. We're always proud to build state-of-the-art facilities to help students succeed in their education. | | This is Millenium Park's new reclaimed timber pavilion crafted and installed by MACRC carpenters. At the ribbon cutting, Training Coordinator Pat Sowers spoke to our partners from Chicago Architectural Biennial, Skidmore, Owens & Merrill, Norcon, Inc., and Washington University. We even had some special guests from across the globe come by to see the top shelf craftsmanship - Hiroto Kobayashi and Naomi Maki Kobayashi from Keio University in Tokyo. Both are architects and family of Fumihiko Maki, the late designer of World Trade Center Building 4. What a unique chance to show off the brighter, more efficient landscape union carpenters will create! | | Washington, MO has had an entirely volunteer-staffed fire department since 1852. They’ll soon be moving into this beautiful new station house getting built by general contractor Lawlor Corp. and Meyer Construction Services. We’re sure it will serve the people of Washington well for many years to come. | | We got to spend some time with over 2,000 high schoolers who came to Build My Future-Southeast Missouri in Poplar Bluff. This ever-growing event is introducing tens of thousands of Missouri teens to the skilled trades and we’ve been proud to partner with BMF since day one. | | Unions Demand Answers on Clean Energy Reversal | | Better, Safer Construction Helmets Just Make Sense | | Dedication: Kenny Roche has been a proud union carpenter for 47 years, the last 23 spent teaching new generations of tradespeople at our Belleville campus. Thank you, Kenny, for your years of brotherhood mentoring young carpenters. Best wishes in your retirement! | |
