Feb. 2, 2026 Can't Be Beat Everyone knows union benefits are in a league of their own, but did you know just how valuable they are? Take our pension plan for example and compare it with 401(k) retirement plans. To replace a $2,500/mo pension benefit, you need $750,000 in a 401(k). That means someone with 30 years on the job, putting in 3% of their pay into a 401(k) and getting a 3% match, would need to average around $130,000 a year to build a $750,000 401(k) at a 7% return. You just can't compete with a union pension! - For the Kids - Brockmiller Construction was the successful bidder on this new project for the Arcadia Valley School District in Ironton, Missouri. It’s an early childhood center with new classrooms and a storm shelter to protect the kids during bad weather. Grand opening is coming later this year. - Total Package - Union Carpenters are performing the total carpenter package on a new middle school in southern Johnson County, Kansas. Wolf Springs Middle School will be a state-of-the-art facility when it opens in the fall. Members working for signatory contractors United CSI, Epic, Briarwood, Image Flooring and INSCO are doing it all on this McCown Gordon project. - Solid Work - The vacant Panera Bread headquarters in Sunset Hills, MO is getting a fresh new start as this BJC health clinic and surgery center. We’re logging over a year of solid work out of this job for our members with TJ Wies, Titan and Friend Acoustical Ceiling. The new clinic opens this fall. - Rewards - Here at the Mid-America Carpenters, it pays to give back.
