Subject: Membership Monday: MACRC Leadership Changes ... and GVP Perinar Rocks the House at UBC Convention

Nov. 24, 2025

Stepping Up

We’re proud to announce some recent changes to the MACRC’s leadership structure – all a testament to these leaders’ hard work and dedication to strengthening our union and growing market share. The council’s Vice President Wade Beasley has been tapped to join the United Brotherhood of Carpenters as chief of staff to General President Doug McCarron. We wish Wade all the best in his new role at the UBC. Replacing him as MACRC VP is Tony Guida, who previously served as the MACRC’s Senior Director. Former Kansas City Regional Director Rocky Kloth replaces Tony, and Mike Gavoli, Representative for Millwrights Local 1529, will take over for Rocky in our KC office. Effective leadership means going where you're needed most and we thank Wade, Tony, Rocky and Mike for stepping up to serve our union.

- UBC Convention -

Our former EST and current UBC General Vice President Gary Perinar lit up the stage at the UBC’s 43rd General Convention with a message that echoes the heart of every UBC member: “We fight. We build. We win. We aren’t going to stand still. We are going to keep moving. Defiant. Determined. Unafraid of the future because we are prepared for it. We will always carry this nation on our backs, and we will never ever back down.” Click above to watch highlights of his speech.

- Back to School -

G.S. & S. Construction won this $11 million job at Sullivan, Missouri’s high school. Union carpenters with Titan, FSI Flooring and TJ Wies are building an emergency storm shelter (essential in tornado-prone Missouri) plus new welding and woodworking shops for the kids.

- Voices Matter -

Digital Activism means jobs for our members. Recently, a campaign against non-union contractor K.D. Christian resulted in that company's bid to work on a new office space in KCMO being taken out of consideration. In their place, signatory contractor E&K was brought in to hang drywall on the job. The union's intervention led to six months of work for about 15 of our members. Great job brothers and sisters for amplifying our voice on this campaign and future digital activism campaigns.

- Road Work -

Our MACRC Carpenters working with contracting partner F.H. Paschen are showing off their talents and logging lots of work hours building this new interchange in Dupage County. This $534 million project will include three miles of mainline roadway along with 16 ramps and 15 bridges to deliver full mobility and accessibility on the west side of O’Hare Airport. Scheduled to be completed end of 2027. Best trained! Most Productive!

- On Campus -

The University of Missouri-St. Louis is in the middle of some major expansion work. Union Carpenters are part of the small army of trades modernizing the 62-year-old campus, where we caught up with this crew building UMSL’s new social sciences department and school of optometry.

Building Leaders: Leadership Missouri is a program sponsored through the Missouri Chamber of Commerce. Focused on workforce development, state politics and public safety, it’s designed to enhance leadership skills and deepen knowledge of Missouri’s opportunities and challenges. We congratulate St. Louis Representative Jason Spieckerman on being selected for and completing the program, ensuring the Carpenters Union continues to have an informed voice in the halls of power.

Young Minds: Local 270 attended two career fairs this past week at Quincy High School and at Central Illinois Building & Construction Trades in Springfield, IL. We were able to educate 3,000 high school juniors and seniors about the benefits of joining the UBC. Thanks everyone who stopped by to talk with us.
