Local 1 Cub Club apprentices attended a mass timber class at our Elk Grove Village Training Center. Enhancing skills is vital to becoming a master of one’s craft. Thanks to our instructors who make sure we have the best trained workforce and remain the industry leaders in mass timber. Keep it up brothers & sisters!
| With help from Carpenters Local 792, the city of Rockford, IL is turning around its economy, creating new jobs and benefiting thousands of customers through solar power. This unique “community solar” development on 35 acres is saving Rockford’s low-income residents as much as $500 a year on their electric bills. | Union Carpenters working for E.L. Crawford Construction are building a new Nodaway Valley Bank in Smithville, MO. Our members are taking care of finish and trim carpentry as well as the exterior siding. Signatory contractors JD Bishop Construction and DCM Contractors have also been on site working on the concrete and drywall respectively. | Nationally ranked Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis is getting a new home. The 14-story tower built by McCarthy will have 400 construction workers on site at peak construction, many of them union carpenters. We caught up with these members hard at work and moving fast for the 2027 grand opening.
