Energized

MACRC Carpenters with SLR Renewables are installing 9,000 solar panels at side-by-side community solar projects in Rockford. The racking systems are impressive displays as the panels reach 16 feet high! More outstanding work by our skilled solar installers and contractor partners. And check out this interview with Local 792 member Roger Glavin discussing why solar work is important for job creation for working families.

- Recognition -

Women in Construction Week is a time to highlight all the dedicated work of the women in our industry. It’s also a chance to promote the wide range of opportunities available to women in construction, who are earing great pay with family-sustaining benefits. Thank you to all our Sisters for tearing down stereotypes and leading the way for more women wanting to make a career in the construction field.

- Honoree -

EST Kevin McLaughlin has been honored by the National A. Philip Randolph Pullman Porter Museum at the group's annual award ceremony. EST McLaughlin received the Change Agent Award for his longstanding commitment to the labor movement and helping working families. Well deserved!

- Shame on Tesla -

God forbid the world’s richest man and his trillion-dollar company honor area standards that help working families pay the bills. Shame on Tesla’s corporate greed. Give ‘em hell Brothers!

We're always ready to answer the call when our skills are needed. In St. Louis’ historic Soulard neighborhood, flooring professionals are renovating St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church’s homeless center. We installed showers and new flooring for the shelter providing meals, sleeping and bathroom accommodations to the homeless. Big thank you to our Local 1310 volunteers and Corporate Flooring Group for donating materials.

St. Paddy's: The St. Patrick's Day parade season has officially kicked off. A huge crowd of members from Local 1, Local 13 and elsewhere came out over the weekend for the Forest Park, IL parade. Lots of support out there for Union Carpenters! Thanks to Local 1 Rep Todd Oetjens for organizing and to EST Kevin McLaughlin for making an appearance along with Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch.
