Cheers:
Here's a first: Carpenters Local 315 partnered up with a craft brewery in Kansas City to create this one-of-a-kind beer for its recent Annual Carpenters Picnic. Carpenters Liquid, as it's called, was a huge success at the picnic, earning high praise from our discerning taste buds. Cheers, Brothers and Sisters!
Family Fun... And we need to thank everyone who turned out last week for our Kansas City health fair & picnic. Catching up with old friends and spending time with our shared Carpenters family builds some unforgettable, lifelong memories (stay tuned for more from St. Louis and Lisle, Illinois next week.)
| | This crew is working with Keeley Construction to stop continual flooding in the Old Town area of Eureka, MO. Nearby Flat Creek is prone to flash floods when the Meremac River gets too high. The $7 million flood wall and pump station will attract new business and residents who have stayed away due to expensive flood insurance in Old Town. | | Kansas City area Union Carpenters with E&K are volunteering their time to trasnform this duplex on behalf of local nonprofit Friends of JCDS. The organization provides affordable and accessible housing, assistance with basic needs and support programs for adults with disabilities in Johnson County, KS. Our members have gutted the house and are in the process of making this a safe place to live. | | We congratulate the recipients of 2025 Carpenter Scholarships from all corners of our council. It's a competitive process and we appreciate everyone who took the time to apply. This year's winners will be studying to become actuaries, nurses, doctors, lawyers, and business leaders among other fields. We wish them the best in their academic careers. (Read more about them in our upcoming issue of the Union Carpenter magazine.) | | After a foggy start, we were blessed with a great day for Local 1185's annual Steve Lange Golf Outing. Over 144 golfers enjoyed the camaraderie of other union members but were also able to relax and enjoy a full day of golf. This outing is entirely to give back to the members, with great prizes, drinks, food and fun. The local is grateful for all of the sponsors that chipped in. Can’t wait for next year! | | Local 174 Carpenters dedicated their time recently to support United Way of Will County and the Exxon Mobil event. We want to express our gratitude to all members for their time and effort showing up and volunteering at our tent. | | Interest Rate Cut Has Builders Breathing Easier | | No Brainer: Pre-Apprentice Programs Work | | Centennial: The MACRC wishes a happy birthday to Local 58 member Ariano Niccoli, who turned 100 years young this past week! It’s not often we see a union carpenter reach the century mark. Thank you Brother for your 73 years of service. On behalf of the Brotherhood we salute you! | | Helping Hands: Local 1027 members partnered with Rebuilding Together of South Lake Cook County Indiana to rebuild the deck for a widow of a deceased member. The member was Mike Echterling, a Vietnam veteran Army Ranger and Purple Heart recipient. We never take for granted the sacrifices made by all those who served and are always proud to help a family member in need.
