When we stand together great things can happen. A non-union contractor, who’s been undercutting our hard-fought Area Standards, just got kicked off this job at a new restaurant in Chicago thanks to Local 1 keeping the pressure on. The carpentry package is now going to an Area Standards contractor! This is how it's done, and that's why we do it!

Our members are hanging metal studs and drywall throughout the old farm equipment building. When completed, the first floor will feature shops and restaurants with 121 apartments filling out the rest of the space. | | World-class healthcare needs a top-tier home. Dozens of Union Carpenters with Alberici, FSI Flooring, TJ Wies and Titan are making fast work here at Mercy Hospital South, the only level-2 trauma center in the southern St. Louis area. Local 1027 has had some important business to take care of lately. Tom Malito and Keith Konieczka both received 45-year pins, while Al Nagy was honored for a remarkable 60 years of service to our union.
...also, the local's Betterment of Education Scholarship recipients got a special shoutout, including Chloe Miller (daughter of member Jim Milller) and member Martin Lopez accepted the scholarship award on behalf of his son. Carpenters' kids are the best and brightest and we know they'll put these scholarships to good use.
