Ganeti instance migrate- Pry to Secondary

I'm currently trying to migrate a VM from primary to secondary using gnt-instance migrate <instance>. I ran into issue 

How do i stop the process?

Pleas next time just sent the text (copy&paste) instead of screenshots. It's easier for mailing list to just have plain text, i.e. for citation.

What you have, is a non converging migration. This can happen due to a busy instance that changes the RAM faster than the qemu migration algorithm can transfer changed memory.

Ganeti can not handle this situation. You must stop this out of band. On the primary node of the effected instance run:

$ echo "migrate_cancel" | socat STDIO UNIX-CONNECT:/var/run/ganeti/kvm-hypervisor/ctrl/<your-instance-name>.monitor

Once done, figure out how to improve the situation:

Tune migration parameters (Ganeti has no meaningful defaults):

$ gnt-cluster modify -H kvm:migration_downtime=1000,migration_bandwidth=xxx

xxx is MB/s. I recommend 0.66 of available bandwidth. That is 82 on 1G network and 825 on 10G.

If that still does not help (the migration does not converge) the only solution would be to use post-copy migration. If you are conservative just enable this per instance, instead of globally at cluster level:

$ gnt-instance modify -H migration_caps=postcopy-ram <your-instance-name>

Increasing the migration bandwidth as Sascha suggested will help will help with future migrations. We certainly had to do it here especially for busy VMs.
