Everyone,

I am happy to report that Ganeti 3.0.1 runs just fine on Rocky Linux 8.5 (the latest release). Using the excellent packages available at the Integ Ganeti repository (https://jfut.integ.jp/linux/ganeti/), I built a two-node cluster on standard Dell Proliant R-series hardware. Hypervisor is KVM, with DRBD over dedicated 10-gig storage links.

One change in the environment, compared with CentOS 7, was that I had to flip some SE Linux booleans in order for Ganeti cluster operations to work properly, like so:

setsebool -P nis_enabled on
setsebool -P domain_can_mmap_files on
setsebool -P use_virtualbox on

With the change in direction of the CentOS project, our organization is planning a full transition from CentOS 7 to Rocky 8. Learn more about Rocky Linux here: https://rockylinux.org.

Cheers!

Hi,

Thanks for the interesting information!
I wasn't aware of the SELinux configuration , and would like to improve it if it can be included in RPM.
Also, thanks for the test results on Rocky Linux, it should work on AlmaLinux, but I haven't tried it yet.

Regards,
