Hello,
A quick follow-up on this thread.
Over the past week I started looking into the Debian packaging and the issues preventing Ganeti from migrating back to Testing.
I intentionally started with a few small and self-contained merge requests (such as removing obsolete warnings and updating the FSF address in debian/copyright) [1]. While these changes are minor by themselves, they helped me understand the Debian packaging workflow, the Salsa contribution process, and gain confidence before tackling more substantial changes [2][3].
I have now prepared an update to the Debian package for the upstream 3.1.1 release [4]. During that work I also removed Debian patches that are now included upstream, refreshed the packaging accordingly, and validated the package by building it successfully for Debian sid and testing, running Lintian, and running the DEP-8 autopkgtests (autopkgtest-virt-qemu).
The merge requests are intentionally small and focused to make review easier.I'd appreciate any review or feedback from people familiar with the package. If everything looks good, hopefully we can get these changes merged and help Ganeti migrate back into Debian Testing.
Thank you!
