Is it possible to, or is it an intended future addition to be able to have open images in multiple undockable windows? I frequently want to cut and paste from one image to another / edit images side by side and I don't see a way to do this currently.

Hi, I love Paint.NET. I use it all the time, and have donated. Could you please consider making it possible to be able to see two images at the same time? I would really like to see both at the same time, for instance today I am trying to reverse-engineer a fuzzbox I made 20 years ago, by looking at the front and the back of the circuit card at the same time, and tag the parts I have scribed into the schematic with a transparent yellow mark on each image. It makes me lose my orientation to have to click between the single images. Please look into having multiple windows. Thanks!

I am trying to use Gimp as an alternative, which does save every element separately. But that program Gimp takes ages to startup and it has a very steep learning curve. So I keep on getting back to paint.net to do quick edits.

Paint.net is not, and never has been, the URL for downloading paint.net program. Very confusing. Just go to which is their official website, and appears to have been designed in 1979 by a 12-year-old.

As long as you save it as a paint.net (.pnd) file you can edit the layers as often as you want. All the other file types are flattened, so just save as a pnd as well as a png, jpeg, etc. if you want to edit layers later.

It seems that there are many users who have difficulty uninstalling programs like paint.net from their systems. Some experience issues during uninstallation, whereas other encounter problems after the program is removed.

Hi Gary
I was looking for an msi of winscp and stumbled onto your website. There are a few posts on your blog but so interesting. I already made a package of this paint.net app which I needed to make (on my to do list) and with your help I made it quicker ? Thanks!
A question: For the uninstall program you use the .exe file again? Why not using the uninstall string instead? If the cache is deleted between install/uninstall time the machine needs to download it again ?
