Hi guys,

We have released MAC SDK. Check this link: http://wp.me/p151Ut-1h. You
can now develop your apps and games in MAC boxes.
We have also released Android API. Check this link: http://wp.me/p151Ut-1d.
You can now develop apps and games for Android devices.

We are working on more cool features. Stay tuned.

Thanks,
Kishore.

What about iOS? Is it already implemented?

Hi Lionel,

iOS API is not implemented currently. We have it on the road map. I
cannot give an exact date, but it should be out in the near term.

Thanks,
Kishore.

Actually I'm interested in the Javascript API. However, since iOS does not support flash, can the Javascript API work on iOS due to the dependency on sock_bridge.swf?

Thanks
Lionel

We actually have bayeux, long polling and further downgraded
transports possible. But these didn't appear to be really useful to
apps sensitive to latency. However they could be very well used for
semi realtime apps that are not that sensitive to latency. Are you ok
with such transports? We can prioritize this fallback transport
feature. Can you give us a probable date by when you might require
this? (You might send me a personal message if you dont intend to
share publicly). There will not be any change from your side of code.
You will just need to upgrade your API when we add the support. So you
can start the development right now and we will try and push the
feature to production to match with your needs. (Its actually best to
have websocket support, but adding that will take sometime and also
with flakiness in browsers turning flags on and off, this fallback
transport is a much required feature).

Thanks,
Kishore.

Kishore,

bayeux/cometd and long polling is sufficient for the type of app I'm developing (casual game).

I don't have any particular date in mind, I'm currently just in the evaluation phase.

An alternative to bayeux would be to have an iOS API integrated in a PhoneGap plugin for Javascript developers. Might be worthwhile taking a look.

Thanks
Lionel
