We actually have bayeux, long polling and further downgraded
transports possible. But these didn't appear to be really useful to
apps sensitive to latency. However they could be very well used for
semi realtime apps that are not that sensitive to latency. Are you ok
with such transports? We can prioritize this fallback transport
feature. Can you give us a probable date by when you might require
this? (You might send me a personal message if you dont intend to
share publicly). There will not be any change from your side of code.
You will just need to upgrade your API when we add the support. So you
can start the development right now and we will try and push the
feature to production to match with your needs. (Its actually best to
have websocket support, but adding that will take sometime and also
with flakiness in browsers turning flags on and off, this fallback
transport is a much required feature).
