It’s been several cold seasons since Salamandastron has had a Badger Lord upon its throne. Several cold seasons since Redwall Abbey fell victim to the claws of a clever warlord by the name Raguul Fearsbane and his horde of Deathseekers. Several cold seasons since the Great Famine, since the Long Patrol split in two and refused to work together causing chaos across Mossflower Country.

It seems it’s going to be yet another cold season...the snow threatens to fall any day now and food is still greatly scarce. Those who have not moved on fight just to survive. Vigilante forces work quietly under the cover of darkness, speaking in hushed tones of taking Redwall back, for fighting for their right to freedom and peace once more. Too long has Raguul been in control. Quietly the spirit of Martin the Warrior stirs in the souls of creatures filled with hope and hearts full of rage. There are a select few who claim to have heard his voice in their dreams, but only in their dreams. Is Martin’s memory still strong enough to dispel such fear and hatred? Can the Long Patrol be united? And where is the Badger Lord? Why has the badger blood not reached out to a young warrior in this time of need?

But the question everybeast keeps asking is...is it even worth the effort anymore?
