Welcome to Working Group 5 and Invitation to Virtual Meeting

Dear WG5 Members,

I hope this message finds you well. It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to each of you as members of Working Group 5 (Implementation, Dissemination, and Education) within GameTable.

I am excited about the diverse expertise and perspectives that each of you brings to WG5, and I am confident that our collaboration will lead to meaningful contributions to the objectives of the Action.

To kick off our collaboration, I propose that we convene for a virtual meeting on Thursday, January 4, from 11:00 to 15:00 CET. This meeting will provide an opportunity for introductions, an overview of WG5's goals, and a discussion on how we can collectively drive forward our initiatives in the coming months.

Please confirm your availability for this proposed meeting time, and I will ensure to send out the meeting details promptly.

Dear Dorina and all Collegues, 

Glad to join WG5 of GameTable, such a challenging Cost Action, and I ' m more than sure that everyone of us will do her/his best to reach high achievements and have a strong network that will longly last.  

I totally agree with you to have  the Kick off meeting at 4 January and have a very short presentation. 

I just wanted to make a note, it' s goint to be a very long meeting 11.00 - 15.00, and of course if it is going to be at least 5 min. Presentation for everyone , it. will last so long...

Can we make it shorter? I ' m  sceptic if everyone is going to participatice during all the meeting course. 

I propose to have a google sheet, where everyone can write, name, surname, the affiliation and the job title, as well as a very short bio, so we can read and get know each other before the meeting. This file can be used to be published in the platform/ website of the CA as well.  During the meeting, which may last 1- 1.5 hour, we just introduce ourselves, ( name, affiliation and 2 sentences of what out job is). So the rest of the meeting we can deal with what the WG tasks are and how we will proceed further.

Just a propose, but still I am ok, with whatever decided

Thanks for this welcome message Dorina! I won't be available on 4 January, so I will shortly introduce myself here.

I am Flo, a French researcher in Tokyo at AIST, a public research institute in Japan. I work in AI, and more specifically in combinatorial optimization. I like to apply my research on games: in general, I tackle real-time strategy video games like StarCraft or the academic game microRTS, but I am also interested in board games. Currently, I try to develop innovative AI methods to play the board game Gekitai (better known as boop. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/355433/boop). My goal is not to make an AI agent mastering this game with a well-known method, but to design new ones, even if it leads to weaker agents (it's research and not engineering after all).

I joined this group mainly for its implementation part, but I am also curious about dissemination.

I' ve another suggestion on how we can confirm a participation in a meeting. 

Can we use doodle which can be adminsitered by the WG leader, so everyone can confirm his/ her participationnin a meeting ( yes/ no) in order to avoid receiving so many emails among us on this issue.

I know how busy we are with emails nowdays, and we can be more efficient in this...
