I am excited to announce that the next lecture in the Ludic Languages of Asia series will take place in the ASTRA Research Villa at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin on Wed 14 May, 13:00-14:30 CET.

Prof. Frank Rövekamp, Director of the East Asia Institute of the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, will talk to us about the role of Shogi (Japanese chess) as art and practice during the Edo Period in Japan:
