Dear Working Group 2 members,

Tim and I are pleased to circulate to you a document which describes the results of our meeting last month. As you can see, we identified several avenues for collaboration within the working group and with the other GameTable working groups. If you see any of these initiatives and would like to be involved with them, please reach out to the people identified there as contact people for the relevant initiative. If you see a topic that nobody has yet stepped forward to lead, please let us know if you would like to become the point person for it and we can discuss that!

As you already know, and can see from the document, some of these are already starting to develop. For instance, we will soon be announcing our lineup of speakers for the webinar. If you have not yet signed up to present at the webinar, we would also like to take the time to encourage you to do so here

Please do note that this list is not meant to be exhaustive! We encourage you to explore your own research interests and collaborations in the context of GameTable without our direction. But, we think this may help to provide some ideas and direction.

Please do reach out, as always, if you have any questions or ideas for the working group!

All the best,
Walter and Tim

Thanks for sharing this document. In relation to computer vision, I would like to notify everybody that the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science is hosting an online talk by Mathieu Aubry on the application of computer vision to historical artifacts on 19 Jun, 2024, 11:00-12:00. You can find the abstract and registration information here:

https://intranet.mpiwg-berlin.mpg.de/event/computer-vision-history

Mathieu works with the EDIA group in Paris focusing on the application of computer vision to astronomical diagrams from the 8th to the 18 centuries. I will be appearing in their seminary series on 9 July, 2024, 15:00-17:00, with a talk entitled: "Games Beyond the Grid: Ludic Representations of the Cosmos". You can find more information here (Zoom link at the top, abstract at the bottom):

https://eida.hypotheses.org/seminars-2/history-of-astronomical-diagrams-seminar

It would be great to see some of you at one or both of these events.

Best regards,
Jacob

Dear all,
thank you Walter and Tim for putting this document together.
It seems that lots of the ideas will take place by collaborating with the other groups, which is perfect and it is also one of the first aims of the Action itself.
I will be in contact with Rachel since we talked about the playing app idea and we can try to put some work into that and contact computer science specialists as a first step.
As for the planning of an exhibition, I suggest discussing it further during the WG5 meeting in October, it was one of the main goals of this large group from the very beginning, when we met in January.
Keep in touch about this all, good luck with everyone for their projects,
And thanks Jacob, I will try to participate!
Regards,
Ilaria

Thank you dear Chris and Tim for this valuable work.
Now, how can we get in touch of the person leading to develop those ideas, how to get their respective emails ?

Thank you.
