Hello everyone!

Do you know a student interested in game design? How about a student who just happens to be looking for something to do this weekend?

This is a last chance call for students (grades 5-12) to sign up for our 2nd Student Challenge Virtual Game Jam of 2022, taking place tomorrow Saturday, February 12th @ 11:00AM-3:30PM EST

As part of the national G4C Student Challenge, Game Jams are half-day virtual events where students rapid prototype their very own digital games about social impact Theme topics they care about. At this second Jam, students will make games about Shaping the World for Difference. Supported by Understood, this topic is all about bringing awareness to learning and thinking differences such as ADHD and dyslexia.

The Details:

  • All students grades 5-12 are welcome to tune in for free!

  • No prior experience with game design is required. Newbies are welcome!

  • The jam will be facilitated by G4C and pros working in the games industry, who will teach attendees how to make their own digital games using the Scratch design platform

  • Attendees will also explore how games can address mental health and learning and thinking differences

  • Students can also participate to get feedback and guidance on a game they’ve already started creating

  • Students who attend have a chance to win a $30 Best Buy gift card

  • Games can be entered into the annual G4C Student Challenge competition, open February 1 - April 8, 2022 for the chance to win a $10,000 scholarship!
