Post Doc Position in Development of Educational Games and Media
Seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our dynamic team of faculty and design professionals in the Department of Innovative Media Research and Extension. The researcher will work on
development and evaluation of educational games, animations, virtual labs and other interactive tools, and on pursuing funding for future projects. Requires a doctorate in a related field, such as game studies, educational technology, learning design, or evaluation
studies.
This two-year appointment is a non-teaching position dedicated to research and development.
Depending on the applicant's background, the post-doc may pursue research into effective design practices, evaluating impact of developed materials, and/or learning design. The successful candidate
will be heavily engaged in grant writing activities, including conducting research to inform proposal development or reporting. The successful candidate should have expertise and/or familiarity in at least one or more of the following areas: instructional
or learning design, game-based learning design and research, process or product evaluation, and/or STEM learning processes. The post-doc is expected to collaborate with department faculty on at least two grant proposals and one research paper annually, in
addition to participating in design of learning tools produced by the team. Examples of developed products are available at http://innovativemedia.nmsu.edu.
