Have you tried the new gaming head-mounted display that was recently acquired by Facebook for 2billion? If you're "game" enough, you can try it at our lab and provide us with your user experience data in return.

We are part of a project that investigates player experiences in virtual reality (VR) gaming, as approved by UTS ethics under HREC 2013000135 Project Number 2014-3.

In our current study, you will play a modern VR game on the Oculus Rift for ~30 minutes. To collect user experience data, we will ask you to verbalize your experiences as well as fill in some questionnaires. We will also attach some biometric sensors. These sensors are all non-invasive and includes strapped electrodes on the hands and small adhesive electrodes on the face (proper hygiene procedures are followed and face electrodes are disposables).

We will require you to come in on 2 occasions, (1) to play the VR version of the game and (2) to play the non-VR monitor version of the game. This allows us to compare your experiences. More details can be found in the information sheet attached.

We are planning to run the study from 7-11 July 2013. You can simply sign up for the two slots using http://doodle.com/y7nrdn82pdeebs6g (please include an email contact in the textbox).

If you're confused about the above instructions but wish to help out, simply reply to this email and we will gladly make arrangements from there. Also, if you wish to be involved on a different day, do let us know and we'll try to fit you in.

We are game researchers aiming to make a difference in game design, and we hope you can help us by participating in this exciting new phase of VR gaming.

regards,
Chek
