Solving the puzzles of science through gaming

Do video games have the solutions to some of our most complex scientific problems? In the game Fold-it, players manipulate 3D shaped proteins to fix real life scientific problems; online game Dapper seeks to improve the health of type 2 diabetic patients; and astronomers are using of video gaming technology to predict how complex star systems appear when viewed from Earth. In this talk, join speakers Steven Armstrong, medical journalist who writes for the BMJ; Dr Erinma Ochu, Lecturer in Science Communication & Future Media at the University of Salford; and Simon Parkin, journalist and author of the book 'Death by Video Game'.
