Hi all,

On Saturday 12th August, 12:30 to 16:30, we are holding a free game themed Library Camp at the Knowledge Centre in The British Library, London.

This event is intended as a warm up to International Games Week in the autumn & to inspire librarians and library staff from all sectors to host their own game events. It will be a great opportunity for all those interested in any aspect of gaming in libraries to get together and share ideas.

Library Camps are unconferences aimed at librarians and library staff, but open to all with an interest in libraries. For more information about unconferences go to: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconference#Format

The key thing about unconferences is that the participants propose and facilitate their own sessions to be run throughout the event. A number of sessions will be running in parallel during the event, as we have the use of a few rooms in The Knowledge Centre.

For more information about the event please visit: http://gamesandglams.blogspot.co.uk/

To book a free place go to: https://gamelibcamp.eventbrite.co.uk

We'll be using #GameLibCamp17 to discuss the event on Twitter etc.

Sent on behalf of myself, Darren Edwards (Bournemouth Libraries) and Stella Wisdom (British Library).

Hello again,

I wondered if anyone is available to help out at this even?. We're looking for a few people to help with:
  • Registration.
  • Direct people to the event space from the foyer of the Knowledge centre & also the main British Library building.
  • Direct people to where the session rooms, toilets and water are throughout the event (the rooms are all close by).
  • Set up - making sure each room had enough chairs/tables. It's going to be a low-tech event, so set-up shouldn't be too complicated.
  • Tidy up - again this shouldn't be a major task.

It won't be a massive amount of work, but a few extra people helping will give us organisers the to chance to participate in some of the sessions too.... especially as we've put ourselves down to lead on sessions. :-)

And please do add any session ideas to the comments box on this page, please > http://gamesandglams.blogspot.co.uk/p/game-library-camp-sessions.html

Thanks for any help you can offer.

is there an earliest time you would need people by? I'm interested, but I'd be travelling in from Chester (not the most convenient, but this sounds really exciting).
